I remember a lot of magic moments playing super mario kart and street fighter 2 on the snes, but as single player games are going, i remember magic pocket and turrican 1, 2 and 3 on the amiga.
Shadow of the beast was also a very nice game on the amiga.

The gameplay and the soundtrack of those games are still holding on, and they had very limited ressources.

Have a listen at that tune

    Do you have any ?

Lots of moments. For great music I like Last Ninja.

    And

    Golden Axe

Ski or Die was fun too.

Recently I have been totally addicted (not necessarily in a good way) to Skyrim. Great music, many epic moments.

After enjoying pong as a kid I was never much of a gamer. I preferred table hockey games and cards. Though my sons got me to play Command and Conquer (about 15 years ago) - it was a well developed game. I especially liked the Zero Hour expansion. A lot of fun.

The whole end of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is still my favorite. Wont spoil any of it ... ;). But there are some incredible moments. The original Playstation MGS has some equally heavy and memorable ones.

Tony Hawk 3 was also incredibly fun. The soundtrack alone is so good.
    The Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Fight Like A Brave
    KRS One - Hush
    Motorhead - Ace Of Spades
Rollins Band - What's The Matter Man
House Of Pain - I'm A Swing It
    Xzibit - Paparazzi
    Ozomatli - Cut Chemist Suite
    Alien Ant Farm - Wish
    Redman - Let's Get Dirty
Del Tha Funky Homosapien - If You Must
AFI - The Boy Who Destroyed The World
    Reverend Horton Heat - I Can't Surf
    Adolescents - Amoeba
CKY - 96 Quite Bitter Beings
    Zebrahead - Check
Guttermouth - I'm Destroying The World
    Nextmen - Amongst Madness
    Bodyjar - Not The Same
    Mad Capsule Markets - Pulse
I used to crush the cruise ship level.

Defender... getting all of those pesky alien kidnappers with just one bomb!

FA18 Interceptor on Amiga.. flying under all the bridges upside down in a round trip round the Bay Area

Witcher 3 has some of the best storytelling I’ve played.

Metroid Prime.. just wow! All of it.

Assassins Creed Black Flag... taking down whole fleets of Man o’ Wars

My family love watching me play Uncharted.. all are great but some of the scenes in Cartagena and with the main character’s brother are knockout.

I took a decade long break from video games then my wife surprised me with a Nintendo Switch for our anniversary. During my time away from gaming the indie gaming world completely exploded. One of the best games I’ve ever played, with some truly amazing moments throughout, is Iconoclasts. It’s an indie game made by one person (he did literally everything and it took him 7 years) and it has some of the deepest characterizations I’ve ever seen in a video game along with a sweet sci fi story to boot. I’ve played plenty of great games before and since, but Iconoclasts was the most recent in memory to really have me drop my jaw in amazement at the depth and complexity of story and character all wrapped up in a super fun combination of Metroid and Metal Slug with loads of cool boss battles.

    I’m old.

I like when you pass to a new level in Tempest and it makes that thick analog space warp sound.

I remember when my grade school friend got a new video game for Christmas. Bunch of us went over there to take a turn on it. After maybe an hour of this crap.

We all went outside and tried to hit each other in the private parts with snowballs again.
Guess that makes me a grumpy old man.

I played Pac Man once around 1980.
    Does that count?
Ohhh...I almost forgot...I had a brief fling with Leisure Suit Larry around 1986.

The first real video game I played all the way through was Resident Evil 4 on the PS2. I loved seeing the typewriter and hearing that theme. After a hard boss battle it meant I could save my progress and move forward from there. Still love RE4 after all these years!

I only play racing games. Here is a recording of a 1969 Ferrari Dino that I upgraded in game with a slightly boosted engine and a seriously updated brake and suspension system. This was the first time I had raced it, The track is Lime Rock in New York.

Here is another I recorded. A Fiat X1-9 again modified with a little bit more powerful engine and a super modified suspension and brakes. The track this time is a fictional one located in the Swiss Alps.

What I like to do in this game is modify older and/or lower performance cars to compete with much more powerful ones. The AI for the other drivers is based on what the cloud processing system has learned about other players and then their behavior is modeled.

I held the physics department record on Asteroids at the local bar. For a week or so. In 1982. That's as far as my adventures in video games went.

When you fight that giant white hand at the end of smash bros 64

When you go to that place in Zelda Majoras Mask and you can bet on the small dog races

In Star Fox when that donkey is like “use the boost ! Do a barrel roll!!”
