My favorite pedal is the Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl HiFi.

Capable of subtle chorus and vibrato but it can also get weird. It adds a lush, thickness that is addictive.

Boss and MXR rarely fail to deliver the goods.

Boss OD3 is very underrated and is a great throaty overdrive. Fulltone got the ‘Marshall in a Box’ right with the OCD.

DD7 got great delay modes and a very good analog emulation. Phase 95 is all the classic MXR phasers in one and the TC tone-print tech is good for reverb which is not something I change much once set.

If i was a beginner, aI’d be looking at a simpler Boss ME unit or a NUX Cerberus or Flyrig and a half decent amp first before worrying about pedals with the possible exception of a boost like my MXR Microamp which can lift any setup for a solo or get more tone and fatness from singlecoils.

I hear ya. It was more than I’d ever spent on a pedal and I had a hard time justifying it. I’m glad I pulled the trigger though. It’s been on my board for three years and I’ve been really happy with it.

    Lotsa questions...

    Favorite cheap pedal?

Depends on how you define 'cheap'. Under $50, I'd say the Mosky Spring Reverb.

    Favorite pedal with expression jack?

Don't have one. I don't care for expression pedals.

    Favorite modulation pedal?

    Rowin (aka Mooer) Trelicopter

    Fav overdrive/boost/distortion/fuzz?

Rat, MXR Sugar Drive (Klon Klone) and Big Muff

    Fav reverb/delay?

    Mosky Spring Reverb

    Fav weird pedal?

Tie between DOD VibroThang and Vox Trike Fuzz

    Fav multi effects pedal?

Don't really have one due to disappointments in the past although I keep eyeing the Hotone Ampero.

what is something you wish you knew when you were a beginner guitarist trying to build a pedal board?

This is where inexpensive multi-effects pedals can help a new guitarist define the sounds they like and don't like. I usually recommend this approach since it avoids the expense and trouble of buying and swapping a lot of pedals.

If you could have all pedals made by 1 brand and no other, which brand would you choose?

I don't like this kind of limit.

What is your fav weird thing that you like to do concerning the order you put your pedals in?

For recording, I have the Mosky Spring Reverb in the effects loop of my mixer board.

Favorite Pedal will change with the wind, but for right now:

    Wampler Paisley Drive

Best OD I've used so far.
I'm mostly a clean player, so for that extra boost, with a bit of crunch on it, the Paisley Drive just nails it.
I've even been using it with my acoustic. Surprisingly good.

Favorite cheap pedal? Based upon use, Joyo Dyna Compressor

Favorite pedal with expression jack? NA

    Favorite modulation pedal? NA

Fav overdrive/boost/distortion/fuzz? NUX Horseman/Danelectro Billion Dollar Boost/MXR Raijin Drive/Caline Clear Veil

    Fav reverb/delay? Wampler Reflection/Caline Drifter 7 Delays

Fav weird pedal? Not weird, but Caline Ultra Chorus

fav multi effects pedal? Donner Alpha Cruncher

what is something you wish you knew when you were a beginner guitarist trying to build a pedal board? Wait a year, maybe two.

If you could have all pedals made by 1 brand and no other, which brand would you choose? Wampler

What is your fav weird thing that you like to do concerning the order you put your pedals in? A boost before my fuzz (3) followed by an OD capable of a good clean. The other thing I like to do is use an ABY, running all my OD, Distortion, and Fuzz thru the inputs of two amps (one tube and one SS) with my effects pedals on the effects loop of the SS.

    Hi.

So, the question is, what’s my random thoughts about pedals? :)

Just bought a Fuzzface reissue (not the mini one, but the big kahuna). I’m absolutely loving how dynamic it is and how well it’s thickens up my slide tone!

    Favorite cheap pedal?

Danelectro Cool Cat v2 transparent overdrive (sadly discontinued)

    Favorite pedal with expression jack?

I don't use any - although the Keeley Dark Side v2 has the option

    Favorite modulation pedal?

Keeley Dark Side v2. I LOVE the rotary on it.

    Fav overdrive/boost/distortion/fuzz?

A TS clone a friend made for me many years ago

    Fav reverb/delay?

Fender tre-verb... excellent and flexible reverb. I don't really use delay any more.

    Fav weird pedal?

EHX POG 2 - LOTS of weird fun!

    Fav multi effects pedal?

I don't use them any more, but I was very happy with my BOS ME20 which served me well for many years. It's somewhere around, just in case.

What is something you wish you knew when you were a beginner guitarist trying to build a pedal board?

How important a good power supply is

If you could have all pedals made by 1 brand and no other, which brand would you choose?

I don't have any of their pedals, but JHS seems like a good option to me. They make all the essentials and pretty well as far as I can tell.

What is your fav weird thing that you like to do concerning the order you put your pedals in?

Nothing particularly weird. Sometimes I wonder whether it'd be better to have my fuzz at the very beginning of the chain (currently it follows my tuner, wah wah, and Broadcast)

Favorite Cheap pedal? My Firehawk FX. A lot of function (incl. Bluetooth control) for less than a PodGo.

OD? The Caline Pegasus OD in front of the Firehawk.

Insufficient data. I try to avoid pedals that need other pedals.

    Fav reverb/delay?
    Reverb sucks.
    Delay: DOD Rubberneck, EHX Canyon

    Fav weird pedal?
    Digitech Whammy

    fav multi effects pedal?
    The one that’s furthest away

what is something you wish you knew when you were a beginner guitarist trying to build a pedal board?
Choose and organize your gear so that confusion is minimized.
If you know how to use your guitar’s volume and tone controls, you can take at least two dirt pedals off your board.

If you could have all pedals made by 1 brand and no other, which brand would you choose?
    Boss or EHX

What is your fav weird thing that you like to do concerning the order you put your pedals in?
Wah after fuzz can sound awesomely misanthropic.

what is something you wish you knew when you were a beginner guitarist trying to build a pedal board?
Don't be afraid to try something new

If you could have all pedals made by 1 brand and no other, which brand would you choose?
    Probably Strymon or Keeley

What is your fav weird thing that you like to do concerning the order you put your pedals in?
I don't know that it's particularly weird. I don't put my pedals in strict chronological order. The always-on or on-and-stay-on-as-needed pedals go on the harder-to-reach top row; the more frequently toggled go on the bottom row.

I do like to run tremolo (esp. ramp-up type) with delay to accentuate an Edge-type effect.
