    I'm a big fan of Scissor Sisters. They have some good stuff.

    Probably my favorite

    The first Captain Beyond record absolutely kills.

    Subdudes rule too. I like how their first album cover is a tribute to the first Meters record.

    Did The Meters ever make it big? If not, they’re my pick.

    First Subdudes album cover for reference:

    How do you define not making it big?

    Did Guided by Voices ever make it big? If that's the scale;
    Uncle Tupelo(the one where the cd looks like a tire), Minutemen(double nickles on the dime), Firehose, the Gits(seafish Louisville), Ryan Adams and the cardinals(cold roses), God Lives Underwater(the one with a doll head on cover), the Luchagores(self titled), Nothingless (dont think about it), there are lots.......
