Follow that Bird - Waylon Jennings being the most badass dude ever when i was a kid

and literally anything with a bad casting of Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. that guy has popped up in so many bad roles: back to the future 2 and 3, the big lebowski, fear and loathing... and a bunch of other movies I'm not thinking of. he's like the go-to casting if you need an ugly/dumb villain... and it cracks me up whenever i see him

Animal House has Robert Cray on bass with Otis Day and the Nights. Showing my age, one of my guitar students is in a brief scene in the background.
The Animals played a few songs in Hollywood movie about a political campaign.
200 Motels with Zappa and Ringo
Footloose starred Lori Singer, who is an active cellist.
Head, the Monkees movie had a bunch of LA upstarts, including Zappa.
The Hank Garland movie produced by Steve Vai, who had a scene as Hank Williams.
Dragnet episodes feature trumpet player Jack Sheldon in small roles, usually a witness.
Zachariah was a head western featuring Elvin Jones, Country Joe and the Fish, James Gang, Doug Kershaw (just looked it up). Dumb movie.

High School Confidential--one of my all time favorite movies.

What a cast.
Drew Barrymore's father. A young Michael Landon, Russ Tamblyn, Jackie Coogan (uncle Fester) playing the drug kingpin, Charlie Chaplin's son, and of course Mamie Van Doren and her two enormous talents.
The opening scene with Jerry Lee Lewis playing in the pickup truck is priceless.

The Big Lebowski is one of my favorites and I was trying to think whether it had any musicians. Flea of course, I completely forgot!

I can’t remember which film but there’s a scene where Groucho is playing a nice arch top gibson in a boat on a pond and he stops playing and he throws it into the water ( although it turns into a cheaper guitar for the throwing)
I could never tell if it was actually him playing or not

I guess most those guys who started in vaudeville could play or sing

Chico plays the piano, amazingly. I don't remember Zeppo ever playing anything, but he seemed more into the singing. Groucho... I don't know. But I wouldn't put it past him. Bloke's amazing.
