Favorite inlays other than dots

This is a Telecaster forum, we know most of us like dots. What is your favorite style besides that?

I’ve always loved the mini trapezoids on some turn of the century Gibsons. I feel like only a few models got them. Kinda split the difference between dots and full trapezoids.

Trapezoid (Les Paul) are my favorite.
I put em’ (actually luthier Bill Giebitz) on my avatar guitar.
Close runner up is parallelogram (ES-345).
Thumbnail (Gretsch) are a distant third.

Is that an LP SL? I had one in natural with the mini traps. I’d love to get another as the original is long gone.

Yeah, I also had a natural one with P90s (swapped out the P100s) that was, if I’m honest, probably one of the best guitars I’ve had. Just got the black one with HBs recently. They’re awesome.

When I'm looking at the instrument, I prefer the simple dots which are easily replaceable if needed.

When I'm playing the instrument, I only care about the little dots on the side to get my hand close to the correct area...

Reminds me of the Ibanez Vai models. I think it looks great.

My partscaster neck is similar to the Vai.
The larger leaves are the markers.

PRS moons like on the Tremonte.

I am not a big fan of Gibson trapezoids or large markers in general. I guess I like smaller markers better than big / stand out designs.
