I know they all can be made to do a passable rotating sound. But, any standouts?

As far as I know, he and Jimmie used a Vibratone on that album.Boss CE2w on Vibe setting Rate and Depth both at 12:30 on Dial. Accidentally discovered this last night and here you are asking... how cool is that?
My instant "thought" when I pushed switch accidentally too far onto vibe setting was SRV Cold Shot. It made me wonder if this what he actually used.

Motion Sound R3-147. Best leslie sim on the market. New or used.
For a chorus pedal, it's hard to beat a univibe.
You want decent Leslie, and adjustable?
You want inexpensive?
You want something so simple that it almost seems impossible?
Does your amp have Trem? If so, set that at the speed you want, and then use a cheap Trem PEDAL and adjust that to augment. Holy Freaking Christ and Voila--you got real Leslie.
A member here posted this discovery last week, and I'm amazed at the results I've gotten so far with just minor exploration into dialing it in right.
If your amp doesn't have Trem, I gotta assume two cheap Trem pedals will give the same results (like the cheap Behringer I have), but I can't say for sure.
All I know is that Leslie/B3/etc. EHX pedals are a FORTUNE, and this Trem Trick can get you 85% of the way there for chump change.
I really didn't consider the importance of changing speeds on the fly, which I guess is really important. Hell, I was just blown away by the effect. The old standard Boss tremolo was always my favorite, but I couldn't adjust the rate on the fly to ramp up and down. I bet an amp trem with the boss trem at 2 different speeds would be amazing...something that I have never tried.
The harmonic trem on the Strymon flint is the closest thing I have found that gets me close to the Leslie sound in my head with ramp capabilities. Though not inexpensive, the reverbs are worth the money alone.
I have that Arion.while I haven't used one in years, the Arion SCH-1 did the job better than many other pedals of the day. I also had a late 80's, early 90's Yamaha pedal that was acceptable.
Through my pair of 485 watt 1970 Fender 400 PS tube amp heads, and their custom 3x12 column cabs, it's an even more consuming effect than a pair of leslie 122's. Much more adjustable for speed, ramp, tone, breakup, volume, and mix too. This was discontinued long ago. Used prices--$500 and up.
And it's a huge rack mounted unit.
For this kind of change, wouldn't an actual rotary make more sense?
Is there a Maxon equivalent?Ibanez SC-10.
Sold it when I moved. Missing that sound though. It's really good at the Police sound, but also really good at Leslie-ish.
Also, the VFE Enterprise Phaser, sounds leslie enough to keep me from buying a Strymon Lex!
