Tomorrow, for me at my time zone, is Father's Day. I just want to wish you all a good one. As someone who grew up without really having a father, it is an important day between me and my son. My dad was in and out of jail and rehabs my whole childhood (until he ODed when I was a teenager), so I guess I am prone to take this a lot more seriously. Fathers are foundational blocks to the family, we hold it together and set the rules (maybe I am too traditional but whatever). Just take a moment to grab your child/grandchild and let them know you are building for their future. My son has dug into his savings to buy me a steak, I will be very happily marinating it with him soon.

My parents got divorced when I was 7, and my dad died when I was 20. I'm 43 now with 3 kids and trying to be the dad I didn't have. Happy Father's Day to all - we're in short supply and not very valued in this present age.

    Happy Father's Day, everyone!

Dad turned 88 this month, and my first child of three arrived in 1984.

Wait, wasn't that a book title? (George Orwell.)

If they don't remember, then you get to buy something expensive.

I still find it kind of surreal that I’m a dad almost sixteen years in. Been quite the journey!

    Cheers,

Dads are an important part of the foundation.
While I've disagreed w/ mine (both during his life, and since his passing in July of 2018) he never dipped out for cigarettes...

I've taken fatherhood kinda serious, since we had to fly all the way to Shanghai to pull it off.
As it happens, the kid has been nothing short of amazing.

So, yeah, happy fathers day to all the guys & gals who do this thing. ;)

In Pennsylvania with my son seeing some colleges. It’ll be a lot harder next year when it’s real. But I am grateful for the time together.

If given the choice, why would anyone want to be a father ?
Have you forgotten what you and your friends were like at 16-17-18 years of age.
Men get to much credit /props for being "A Father" becoming a father takes,, but a moment or two, when moms who really does all the work.

I suggest a not fathers day, the last Ms. ping-ping asked prior to my getting a vasectomy ,
"what if I want to have children.?"
and ping-ping says "you can still have children with somebody else"
somebody told me that, that was really cold hearted thing to say.
to which I say: not really, it's just the truth unvarnished.

    the doctor
said to me don't you ever wonder what your grandchildren would look like prior to making the first incision? No doctor, that's never going to happen.

Condemning children to lives of poverty and wage slavery, is not a miracle, it's unkind ,very unkind. The consequences of a simple act of passion and caring , at best, can have a life time of regrettable consequences.

In Spain and many other countries, the father's day is the 19th of March.

Now I am working in Estonia and here is in November.

So, this year I can have three Fathers days, the Spanish one in March, the English one in June and the Nordic one in November...

Why fight, let's celebrate as many parties as possible

I would understand if either of my two children said they didn't want to bring a child into this world but...they aren't saying that because they are hoping to experience the same love, joy and commitment that we felt when we grew as a family.

For me personally...father-hood was the best thing that I ever did.

Happy Father's Day to those who are fortunate enough to have gotten that right.

It’s my first Father’s Day. I’ve never felt such love and amazement. Indescribable. My goal from here on out is to give my daughter the best life I can.

    Happy Father’s Day, y’all.
I’m going to call my daughter in a while.
She’s not an early bird, like her Pop.

It’s my first Father’s Day as an empty nest’er and it feels weird. My older son is a filmmaker in Atlanta, and last Father’s Day we moved my younger son after college graduation to take his first job as a video game designer.
We’ve had a tradition over the last decade of spending a week at the lake with the Roots and Rhythm concert in Honesdale Pa on the last day. My wife and I are at the lake with our dogs but sons are working and no concert this weekend due to various worldwide occurrences.

The time seems to have gone so quickly…we hope to see our kids in person sometime this year.
