Now is a perfect time to give intermittent fasting a try...
Take it slow.
And also one of the worst times, for people lacking discipline...lots of widespread boredom out there, and, one thing lots of folks do to fill boredom is EAT
Self-discipline is king...
We watched 'My 600lb Life' the other night. The lady was actually 590lbs & suffering from malnutrition!!!
Because she was eating huge amounts of the wrong food.
It got me worried as I haven't been eating much these last 2 weeks, I've been eating junk - carbs & chocolate.
And I've lost no weight but I'm always tired.
I’m doing the 16/8 intermittent fast which is eating within an 8-hour window. So my hours of eating is usually 8am - 4pm.
You still have to eat healthy food in moderation but it’s pretty much a skipping dinner way of eating. (Or breakfast if you prefer)
I’m going to give it a month and see what happens.
Not eating out also saves lots of delicious calories.
When this is all over, I plan to eat a striploin as big as my Princeton Reverb...
….. with frites.... at Merchant Tavern... with a very large, very cold bière...
I softly disagree
That can sort of kind of mess with your immune system and such.
Rest, exercise, varied healthy diet etc
All need rest, some for one reason or another can not exercise. And, what works for some will not work for all...
People are like guitars...
+1 I agree. Just not the right time to add any stress to the body. Fasting can be good if done correctly, but it does create stress to you system. You want your immune system in the best condition possible. Better to focus on eating a well balanced diet for the time being.
Besides, you have your Eastman coming and you want to save all of your strength for playing it. Just sayin'
Not me. I've been losing weight since January because I'm too busy. And I do all the cooking around here.
I agree that fasting is good, but should be undertaken slowly. No pun intended.
Consult a doctor or nutricianist first.
Our bodies don't need a lot of the garbage we put in them.
And most of us eat way too much.
I'm just starting to explore this.
Check out Dr Mindy Pelz on youtube...
Calories in, calories out... eat if your hungry, skip a meal if you aren’t... balanced nutrition.... vitamins, protein, minerals, fiber... and exercise
pornhub pro is also free during our hiatus... might as well get some exercise with all the fasting...
I'm doing the 16/8 thing too, I think too many alarm bells are being sounded at the thought of my fat @#$ missing breakfast and 10 pm snacks. C'mon, man!
I've been skipping breakfast all my life. I never bought into that BS that breakfast is the most important meal. Look up Edward Bernays, he is, among other things, Freud's double nephew, his mom is Siggy's sister, his dad's sister married Siggy.
Bernays literally (not figuratively-literally) wrote the book on propaganda, called Propaganda.
He was hired by various food corporations to make people buy pork bellies and eggs.
Ha, now it's a thing; skipping breakfast is good for you now!
I'm on a lots of fresh vegetables including daily raw garlic diet.
When I fast I slow and I gotta be fast.
Working night shift...8 nights on, 6 off...repeat. On my night shifts, I eat 1x/day; dinner with Mrs. Get off at 7:30am, walk the dog for 1 hour, go to bed and sleep til 2-3pm. Wake up, walk the dog for another hour, do a chore or two. Fix dinner, eat and then take a nap. Get up at 10pm and go to work...and repeat. On my days off, eat as usual 2 meals a day. Though the meals are a tad smaller. Try to watch doing the carbs, eating fresh veggies and fruit Anyway slowly taking off the weight...about 18 pounds over the past year. Also no coffee and maybe 2 beers/drinks a month. Anyway generally feeling better, better sleep and more energy.
