Checkers food can be downright evil.

They have a lot of sandwiches I really like ( mushroom & swiss burger!), but should stay away from!

Reading this, I now don’t feel so guilty for having a Burger King urge every now and then:)

We get coupon mailers that make the stuff so cheap it’s hard to resist.

I’m an Oreo Blizzard man, myself. But I definitely hear what you’re saying!

Well yeah. But that kind of defeats the whole purpose of fast food, drive-thru windows. Impulsive decisions kinda lose their luster when you plan them out.

There’s a fast food chain in the Midwest called Culver’s. They not only serve real dairy, it’s a frozen custard, which is even more delicious and fattening!
Their slogan is “welcome to delicious”.
    They ain’t lyin!

As far as ice cream and milkshakes go, we gave up on McDonald's when our kids were still in the nest. Every time we went, the "machine is down." Every time.

The kids are middle-aged and gray-haired now, so it's been a long time.

A long long time ago as a teenager I worked at a Dairy Queen. The soft serve machine was pumped out, disassembled, cleaned and sanitized every single night. Perhaps things have gotten more lax in the intervening 40 odd years, but I don't think any establishment serving moldy or rotten food would last 2 weeks.

Fast food is poison. Skip that trash and avoid the frustration of not being able to get what you "want." Feel better, live longer, win/win.

Google says 800+ calories for a 16oz McFlurry... believe me, they did you a favor.

Their machine is not "down," it is being cleaned because it needs to be cleaned every day to prevent creepy-crawlies from growing in it.

This excuse is common because it takes 30-45 minutes to properly a shake/ice cream machine, and if the joint is closing, the employees want to get the hell out as close as possible to closing time.

So they start the cleaning operation around an hour prior to closing.

Remember that the more expensive guitar gear you own the more trouble you will have dealing with fast food. For example, on another guitar forum, I've heard that folks who only own boutique gear have severe intestinal upset if they even go within 100 yards of a Taco Bell.

Bah! I managed one of the busiest Carl's Jr. restaurants back in the early 80s for a year. One thing about that company was their diligence for cleanliness. That shake machine was broken down every single night along with the charbroiler and cleaned piece by piece. If it wasn't done you didn't have a job. Lake Forest at the 5/405 exchange. I politely disagree.

Checkers/Rally's is much closer to actual food than most of the fast chains.

Try that bacon king.. it is a mound of food, and honestly it's tasty, if you don't mind a 1,200+ calorie burger. I end up sharing some of it, because I can't usually finish the meal. It's definitely a gut buster, but the first time I've been impressed with a BK burger.

Until one of them fries travels through your heart and jams one of the valves closed.

I think they have 50 lb. sacks of potatoes and they machine-cut them in that same little drive up building.
