Hey man, just keeping it real. As others have mentioned, when they say "it's down" that probably actually means the machine needs a cleaning and the staff is too underpaid and too grossed out to do it.

Oh come on, that's your response to "that would be great?" Have you looked at your profile name and picture recently?

I've got a theory, that many folks are exploiting this situation, and posing/faking all kinds of issues. We drop by a local haunt for an outdoor beverage. We have a round, then ask for the menu, "Uh, we've got a situation in the kitchen, plumbing issue, we have to close the kitchen." Of course, we just saw plates delivered to the table next to us. Then after a second round, "Uh, we've got a situation in the restrooms, plumbing issue. We are going to have to close early." Of course, one of our clan just returned from the men's room. I think they had a throwdown planned, and just wanted to rush us out of there.

Similar with orders at a drive-thru. They fake missing items, or "system is down" if they don't feel like fooling with it. Its the new "take control" attitude..

@Phrygian77 I can tell your frustration and these are not easy times.
There are bigger problems in life.
It is the 21st. century and more of this " systems down" syndrome is increasingly frustrating.
I get it on my computer and, not having the " smarts" re computer- they charge a fortune for the unit, connection to a system or broadband ( that's just paying for a GPS off a satellite 0, monthly rental, security and scams. Welcome to the 21st. Century. I can't even operate my sophisticated TV- no manual.

While I don't do fast food as often as i did when I was younger, what gets me about these places is that you pull in and the drive thru lane is ten miles long. So you walk inside to place an order and they are slow as hell about getting your order. It seems they work more on getting the drive thru orders out than walk in customers.

Good point. We can let stuff control us, or not. You can make the challenge supplying the thing you want that you can't control, or you can find the equal or better merit, in what's available. The key, is having enough options, that you always have an option. There are options to food items, purchases, gatherings for drinks, FB, tweeter, power and conventional heat, Reverb, MS, etc. With enough options, it doesn't matter wth happens, lol. You just keep going, un-phased. I think a good number of our suppliers and merchants don't believe we can reset our expectations, and won't find alternate forms of entertainment, services and products. That would be a strategic fail on their part.

I have not done fast food stuff since maybe once last summer.
I decided to get a couple square fish at Mickey Ds last week, Fri, and a chocolate shake
That dang shake had a plop of whipping cream on top..I had to
    hurl that off..
Maybe this summer I will get a malted shake somewhere..now that is shake.

    I LOVE Checkers Chili Dogs!

I know they are made of 'lips and *ssholes' and alien material, but I love their flavor ( I dig hot dogs!)

    - I wish they made normal french fries as their seasoned fries have this 'funnel cake' smell and taste too, that kind of makes me sick- as I'm still eating them! As I am weak

I’m not sure how BK can be so systematically slow! Theres a McYucky’s across the street and on their busiest most jam packed days still crush BK. Management?

It's the exact opposite around here. The BK drive thru is pretty quick while the McD's is slower than molasses in January. I refuse to go to McD's ever again.

If I want a milkshake or a sunday or some other ice cream confectional creation embodying pure yummyness, I just go around the corner to my local drive in. 30 plus flavors, real ice cream scooped and blended, toppings to fill a grocery store. If I want food, a large choice of gourmet burgers, or finger steak dinners or fish and chip dinners. Freshly made onion rings and fresh cut fries. Fresh beef from a local ranch. A fie on corporate fast food. Oh, and the drive thru is usually faster than the big boys.

We also have a drive in that has been featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives that is run by a highly trained and experienced chef. You can get a complete Prime Rib dinner that is to die for. Get it to go or eat it on the patio.
