We all know that the state cop and daughter - Lou & Molly - live on to be older in season one.

We'll know in the finale next week if Hanzee & Mike Milligan go for a UFO ride...or will it be Peggy & Ed?

Great show and sharply written. The scenes with Peggy and Dodd in the cabin were priceless.
Another thing that I'm digging is that just about every episode has had a reference to previous Coen Bros. work, whether it be a scene or camera angle or something in the background.

my word, they eliminated like 80% of the cast in this last episode. I love this show.

Who papered the younger cop's living room with obscure symbols? Initially, I thought it was Hanzee, but now I realize he wasn't around to do that. Could it have been the spaceship people? Also, the last view of the house showed the broken glass, but no sign of the wife. Abducted?

Were the aliens preparing to make contact, until they saw the earthlings killing each other?

I noticed that too. The long walk out and ... Begging for his/her life was very millers crossing. Except a different ending.

As Mike Milligan said after viewing the carnage "Well, alright then!" Classic!

That was Ted Danson's office. His daughter was checking on his cats.

There's a true story (?) about a Minnesota cop having seen UFOs.

That was the office in Hank's house.

Similar runes can be seen in the scene with Hanzee at the bar:

The Milligan character is great. Bokeem Woodbine is killing it, in more ways than one.

Is there one episode left? The last one I saw was the ufo comes down and pretty much saves the policemans life. Then they all run off (if you've seen it you'll know. If you haven't I hope o haven't spoiled it)

I literally started laughing out loud when I saw the UFO. I loved when Ed stopped to stare at it and Peggy goes, "Yah, it's a flying saucer... let's go." Classic. In lesser hands, this big of ridiculousness would have turned me off. Such a beautifully crafted show.

i've been poking around looking at articles about tonight's episode and i kept seeing headlines from last year referring to the "unsatisfying" finale of the first season...what in the heck are they talking about? i thought the 1st season finale was outtasite! one of the best ends of a show i've ever watched.

anyhow, there's going to be a 3d season, it takes place 2 years after the 1st season. and maybe not the same characters from the 1st season at all.

The beginning wasn't too shabby either.

What radio station would be playing War Pigs back then?

well, i thought the ending of this 2d season was very interesting in contrast to the end of the 1st. at the end of the 1st, they didn't know if there would be another season, so they tied up most threads. but now that they know they will be back, this ending left lots of stuff on the table.
