Just a thought and a prayer and tribute for our kitty cat Winnie that was the sweetest and most gentle kitty that my lovely wife and I have ever known(and we've had many). We were blessed to be a part of her life. I would hum and sing this song to her daily throughout Winnie's life for years while I was petting her.
She will probably not make it through the night and at 14 years old, she's been through a lot before we even got her 5 years ago. We'll miss you Winnie and think of you often. Just to share with others a little of the pain that occurs when there's a pet loss in your family. Here's the song and I hope you may hum or sing it to a pet you love too...

I miss our cats. With the feral problem because the neighbors feeding them but do nothing else there is no way we’ll have cats again

I hope Winnie’s passing is peaceful and I’m sending positive thoughts and major mojo to y’all

What a great song to sing to a loved one. I know it’s tough to lose a pet. I’m sorry and RIP Winnie.

Send Winnie off with a song. That’s a beautiful passing. It’s clear she had love, and brought the same to you.

A few years back, all of our cats were reaching their expiry dates, and we had to deal with one or two passing every year, aged 14-21. (OK, we had too many cats, so sue me.) Our Maisie is soon to turn 5, so I hope we have a while before we have to face that again.

I dislike loosing family members reguardless of spiecies its not fair and it tugs your heart apart , but its easy to forget how these sentient beings kept us smiling the whole time and how you've enriched each other , I wouldnt have it any other way

Give Winnie our VERY best. She was lucky to have watching over her.

We lost our Vinny at 15 last summer- devastating. He left his two buddies Lord Mayor Mr.Mittens (Yes, he has a title- he earned it...and he’s a six-toed Boston Tom- hence the “mittens”) who is 17 now, and our latest Rez rescue, Trixie, who is now about 4 and 1/2.

Funny thing, though. Last November a tortoise female was hanging around our clinic-with her kittens. She was hit by a car before anyone could “catch” her, and left for dead. Well, She was far from dead, my wife ended up getting her, and she moved into “In-Law” digs in our garage for several weeks while we assessed, and got her back on her feet. She was SO sweet, friendly and grateful for the safe warm extra-large kennel, the food, water and the litter box!
Well, since then, Emily (as she is called now) has moved upstairs with the Lord Mayor snd Trixie, made peace with them, and has settled right into her new life as an indoor kitty.
We dropped her off at the vets literally this afternoon (about 2+1/2 hrs from us) to get her vaccinations, checkup, and a spaying! We collect her Tuesday on our way back from Phoenix to go back home!

Don’t mean to hijack thread or ramble- this is about Winnie. But things have a way of coming full circle when you least expect it. Keep strong for Winnie. Head butts, slow blinks, and chin scratches all around!

    Carl

Thank you for posting this sad and very touching event. in your life when my cat died , I cried and cried, a dear friend had died , I think that I can empathize with your sense of grief and loss. I sounds to me that, the cat, they are never really ours as the really know who the boss is was very well treated by her people..
