I had the opportunity to go to the Rock and Roll instrument exhibit that they are running at the Met in NYC last Sunday. So cool. If you are close by Manhattan, I HIGHLY recommend checking this out!

I grabbed some pics of the tele's to post here for people to enjoy!

Thanks for the pictures! I would LOVE to visit this exhibition, unfortunately I'm like 2k miles away.

Very very cool, thank you for that!

I would be curious to know how the guitars are held suspended, as I do not see any neck wall hanger.

Wasn’t the story that the original dragon paint job got painted over or something like that?

Apparently JP recently stripped it again and repainted it. It looks very new.

Yes that is absolute an Everly acoustic! they have quite a few of all types of guitars from different players and bands. Really just such a cool exhibit. Also they have some taped shows from Page and Morello, EVH, etc. Talking about their origins, etc. Page explains that the Dragon they have was original but repainted. Really So interesting.

It's a good question. Many were hung by wires from the headstocks that you really could barely see unless you were right up close. It was pretty crowded though so I didn't really get a chance to look very closely at how they were mounted.

Lot's of Beatles stuff, included full band setups... George Harrison's electric Sitar. Prince's Hohner. Lot's of cool bass guitars, some Hammond organs, etc. Lot's of fun... lol

Yep it's the original for sure. Or at least it was at some point during the exhibit... lol. Apparently you can buy Fender copies of it directly from the Met at $1399... lol

Cool post. Just out of curiosity, did they have a Gregg Ginn exhibit?

Hmm, I don't recall seeing Gregg Ginn gear, they do have a full band setup from the Roots, the Beatles, and Metallica. Lots of notable guitars... Angus Young, Bo Diddley, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, a 3 pickup Black Beauty Les Paul of Jimmy Pages (with a bigsby) that I guess was stolen after a show in (69'?) that was returned to him recently... man too many to remember. So many cool pieces.
