I respect his contribution, innovation and his ability... but I do not enjoy listening to Hendrix. As for all the hype surrounding Bonamassa... I'm still trying to figure out what I am suppose to be listening for? He's a great player, but it's not moving me. (my mind is still open... :D)

One conundrum for me is Jimmy Page.... He's solo's do nothing for me, but his riffs (hooks) and rhythm are as good as it gets.

I really struggled to see what all the Bonamassa fuss was about until i heard the stuff he's done with Beth Hart. The two studio and the live album he's done with her are some of my favorites. I still can't really get into his own stuff, though i can't fault the guy on his playing, but i did really enjoy the acoustic Vienna show.

I don't like shred guitarists. Another guy I think obviously has great chops but I don't like is Bonamassa. His solos just sound weird to me.

Yeah. What is it with these negative threads anyway? Whatever happened to "If you don't have anything nice to say about someone, then don't say anything at all"? Or a least keep the hate threads relegated to radishes, banjos, and tiddly winks.

Thinking pondcaster could be more positive, such a curmudgeon.

Ha!... When I saw the thread title, first name that came to mind was Brian Setzer.

    Who cares is right.

Neal Schon immediately popped into my head, if only for that stupid, indulgent flurry of inconsequential riffage at the start of "Don't Stop Believin'". Truly awful.

And as long as we're piling on, I don't get Bonamassa either. I've tried, but... nope.

Eddie doesn't need me to speak up for him, his playing does that by itself, but:

Liisten to the intro here, and tell me how there is no soul in his playing

Just because he's capable of playing flash doesn't mean he doesn't know how to utilize "soul".

And I feel like a sucker for having took the bait here :D
