Why do people dislike the blacktop? Best telecaster I've ever owned, and I've had a lot over the years.

Given the Blacktop is "immune" I also have to say the cherry burst Deluxe. That eliminates having two of the same model (Deluxe) and two bursts. Love the white Deluxe and frankly, I'm not a big fan of cherry burst on Fenders.......especially with maple board.

Sorry if you have to sell one but this course of action will leave you with the 3 most diverse teles - both in terms of sound and appearance.

Blacktops are fine. I played one at the evil empire and I liked it.

But - Candy Apple red is my least favorite red by a long way.

Even the Muddy is bad in CAR and - Muddy's wasn't even that color !

A Blacktop in Dakota or faded Fiesta - that'd be nice.

Market research must say that CAR is popular because they sure use it an awful lot...

I'd sell the one with the odd pickups.

Would normally say "later, blacktop" but given the circumstances... see ya AmStd!

I don't like the blacktop because of the humbuggies. I like HH Strats, but an HH Tele doesn't make any sense to me. Since the BT is immune I'd say get rid of the far left Deluxe. I don't like rosewood, and if you get rid of that all your Teles will match. All maple man, that's how I roll ( other than the acoustic.) This isn't up to me though, wich one do you find least appealing ? I would love to take that AM Standard of your hands, but I don't have the cash. If you get rid of one Deluxe you'll have some great sound options. A Tele with noiseless, one with alnicos ?, and one with humbuggies. That would be a great setup. After all, who needs two Deluxe Teles ?

Since the white one is the only one with the rosewood neck, I'd sell one of the two remaining maple necked ones. Of those, the one that will get you more cash.

Oh, I like the idea of switch the necks of the Deluxes and keep the white one. Then you'll be all maple and not have two burst guitars.

If it were me, I'd ditch the American Standard. I would also mod the white one to an Esquire. Then you'd have a humbucker guitar, a modern tele with presumably the noiseless pickups, and an esquire.

I'd sell the burst deluxe- you really don't need two deluxe teles that are so similar

I'm glad you love your blacktop! i sure love mine, out of the box it was set up nicer and felt better than my american special.

As far as which one to get rid of, i'm not a fan of rosewood fingerboards, so i'd switch necks on the two deluxes, and get rid of the burst, and keep the white one with a maple fingerboard :)

You got two Deluxes, one can go. Get rid of the rosewood one and then you can officially be a "maple" guy.

If I lose the rosewood one, do you think that'll affect the tone of my other guitars? :D

The blacktop is affecting your hearing, your mind, and probably is the reason you can't pay your taxes, ditch it, and the Deluxe. Your mind will start to clear, your hearing will improve, (you'll be able to tell a telle when you hear it) and just in case you do the same thing next year, you'll have the money to pay your taxes.
