    I told the seller this wasn't Fender. I've told ebay it's a fake: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/293200755722?ul_noapp=true

It's still for sale and someone is going to get burned. Please bomb the seller and ebay with as many messages as you can. Without the Fender logo, the guitar is maybe worth $80. With it, it's not even legal to sell.

Looks like it's between the seller and the bidders, living proof that you can't fix stupid.

Yep... its a fake. Especially for the claim of being a USA Fender.

Love the write-up. Did they change that as a result of your actions, Simon?

"Fender USA Telecaster?????? . A very heavy, quality, superb sounding Telecaster complete with Fender strap and Stagg hard case. Is it genuine? Who cares! It looks great it plays even better so grab a stunning bargain."

    Very heavy, quality. :lol::lol::lol:

It looks very plump. Almost like an inflatable tele. :)

The guy kind of admits it's a fake in the listing. The buyer could probably end up with a free Chinese tele if he disputes it after purchasing.

It's priced high for around $170 bucks worth of cheap parts and case.

The made in USA on the backside of the head stock looks to be non-original. While its in all probability a knockoff out of one of the Asian countries making clones; the posted does raise the question about its being a real Fender let alone one made in the USA* (this is why eBay is most likely not to excited about pulling the posting). As telemnemonics has stated, its between the seller and bidder. The bidder hopefully fully understanding the seller's disclaimer about the guitar.

    * As described on eBay: "Fender USA Telecaster?????? . A very heavy, quality, superb sounding Telecaster complete with Fender strap and Stagg hard case. Is it genuine? Who cares! It looks great it plays even better so grab a stunning bargain."

It looks more like a home made fake to me. The Chinese fakes look more authentic than that. You can see the waterslide decal scratched off. The china fakes are buried under bullet proof poly and wont scratch off like that.
Hard to believe the guy doesn't know its a fake if he put it together himself and applied the cheap decals.
I think he assembled it and knows its a fake but just had to list it like that in order to sell it. That's one of the problems with faking guitars. They are hard to sell unless you all out lie and try to pass them off as real to some uneducated buyer.

If he listed it as a fake ebay would have pulled it immediately so the seller has gotten creative with his description.

The title gives the impression it might be a genuine tele when it clearly isn't so it is wrong and hope he gets what's coming to him.

The report item button is not easy to find. Ebay is very shady.

I cant belive people have bid on it, you really cant fix stupid. Its could very likely £100-150 new and really poor quality.

You could get a CV and have change at the current bid or if your lucky you could get a genuine MIM standard in very good condition.

The description made me chuckle until I realised that a fair few bids have been made. IMO Its probably 1 gullible idiot and the seller bidding against on another account to get more.

But yeah, this a MIA fender but maybe it isnt, you know what it doesnt matter buy my ****!

I wonder what very heavy is, my first guitar was an asian strat copy and weighed about 11lbs.

Plenty of decent MiMs out there willing to accept offers at around that price.

Why would you take the risk on the one in the OP?

Risk would indicate there is a chance that this guitar is worth the money.
