Mac said previously that when they get to the states, Chris Robinson will do some shows. I'd go see that. Not really the Faces but still still music I like that I otherwise wouldn't get to see performed live. I still think they should have gotten Bernard Fowler to sing. He's got pipes and did great on all the old Faces songs when he toured with Ronnie and Mac back in early 90's.

I laughed out loud at the comment someone posted on the yahoo page:

"I see they're going for ...Simply Red Faces??????"

    Too funny

It's not the Faces without Rod Stewart.
    to drive my point home.....
It's not Queen without Freddie Mercury.
It's not the Doors without Jim Morrisin
It's not the Grateful Dead without Jerry Garcia.
...and just to stir it up, Lynyrd Skynyrd isn't Lynyrd Skynyrd!

All very true but if those guys want to play that music that they helped create more power to them. Rod is too busy boring the hell out of people and they don't want to wait. Let's face it they aren't getting any younger. I would consider this more Faces than I consider Axl's circus act Guns and Roses.

It's not the Crowes without Marc and Eddie?

Whatever. I'll go if the tickets aren't "reunion prices."

Sure it is, it was the Stones before Mick Taylor.

IMO it would be more accurate to say it's not the Stones without Brian Jones (though I don't believe that...)

I'm not much of a stickler for the original lineup- I mean the Allmans are great with Trucks and Haynes.

But.... hold on a goddam minute- Simply Red, Sex Pistols, Guns and Roses members & one Faces member are going out as the Faces.

They should get a new name, methinks.

    "Sex Guns and Red Faces"?

Two - Woody appears to be involved too. I think Chris Robinson would be the best choice for vocals.

Not sure where you got one, it's three. Ronnie, Kenny Jones and Mac.

I'd go see them if they came close to SC but I know they won't. I'd love to see C. Robinson fronting the Faces. They have done a few Faces songs over the years.

Woody will probably have a lot of time on his hands seeing as the Stones have quietly added a finishing date of 2010 for his tenure while the other three all say "Present". Seems that Woody has been released/quit/moved on.

Did you see the quote in the recent Rolling Stone 'Exile' article where Keith said that if it were up to him, Mick Taylor would still be in the band?

Mick Taylor just canceled his tour. Says he's ill. Would be sweet if he were back in.

Ive waited years for a Faces reunion....but not for this one...No Ronnie Lane (obviously), no Rod (not so obviously) it really isn't Faces!
