Ok we know they really don't exist, but here's my closest entry:
When did Derek Smalls join Alvin’s band?
Cool Pink Panther quote!
Well as I Who fan I has to add this
If you have a half hour to spare, I love the blistering bass solo in Dark Star.
(Edited to say, the solo stars around 21:00 if you DON'T have a half hour to spare...)
Oh you so asked for it
Reminded me of this
Something totally different:
begins 3:35, the great great gerald johnson... I was at this concert and it stuck as A) great band B) cool bass solo... I'd note that Gerald also had the whistle ha ha...
This cat knows his way around a doghouse.
Yes, but why?
Slappin' -- just say no.
face melting? Maybe not so much, but well played?
uh oh, better cover yer ears, here be slapping:
I love bands that do bass and even drum solos like this.....it gives me a chance to run to the bathroom and not miss any music. (although, yes, I did like the Pink Panther!)
Yes - Tempus Fugit
I've always loved the bass riff in the Minutemen's One Reporter's Opinion.
Can't post clip,
But give me Berry Oakley's bass solo ( played along with the drummers) on ABB's " Mountain Jam" from Live at Ludlow Garage
6+ minutes of huge, growly, angry funk!
( if anyone besides me knows of this, just a huge fan of this concert recording)
The band is young, raw ( for sure), but locked in!
