I was too cheap to upgrade from the original EZ Drummer to the newer version many years ago and was quite content with the original version and still am. However, I would like to add a few more midi packs to the ones I have (Groove Monkee). Does anyone know if the ToonTrack midi drum packs work with the original Drummer?
    TIA

The MiDI packs work great on EZD2, but I have no idea with earlier versions. Perhaps if you do not get an answer here, call the Sweetwater tech guys. They were very helpful to me early on with Toontracks stuff.

I doubt Toontrack would change the MIDI mapping between versions as they'd want users of the last version to have a seamless transition to the new version.

MIDI is MIDI... there is nothing special about it other than the mapping and as stated above I doubt Toontrack would have altered that.
Different kits (and it's MIDI files) have "additional" mapping, but that has always been the case even in the older version. The basics (kick, snare, hats, toms, click, etc... etc...) are pretty standard.

    Good suggestion. I’ll try it.
