Jut bought a 2TB external hard drive(Toshiba Canvio). It comes with backup software preinstalled, however, do I have to install or set it up for backup, or is there a way to bypass this software and use it solely as storage space for my home studio files? In other words I don't want the software automatically performing scheduled backups of my system and eating up my storage capacity. There's a backup of the basic programs and OS in the D partition, and I don't particularly need anything else. I don't use the computer for anything but music production, so there are no files on it that will cause me problems if they are lost or corrupted. I can always do a system recovery from the D partition and then reload my music software from disc. Everything else will be stored on the external drive anyway. Thanks.
