    I think I have Existential Ennui....

    meaning quote..

"He wants there to be meaning in his life. So this is the fine distinction I want to make, because true existential ennui means having no desire at all. Existential ennui is more than just not knowing what you want to do; it means not even wanting."

How's your ennui going folks?.... what level are you at?....:D

    some music for the interlude...

Here's Michael Nesmith with Chris Scruggs on a recent tour reprising Grand Ennui, from Nesmith's old days:

I have it bad. Ever since this virus crap started, I don't do nuttin'. I have a beautiful, fully customized Harley in the garage that I don't ride; maybe 100 miles in the last year. I don't touch my guitars or steel, I just lay in bed all day & night, or come to my many forums for entertainment. I have zero desire to do anything.
Of course, started seeing my GF again so there IS alight at the end of the tunnel. But it's far away.

ennui, malaise, angst, weltschmerz, kind of hard to tell.

Ya know what would be terrific fun, Trev? Seeing your kids doing a version, a live version of Shaft, the Isaac Hayes classic. Might have to, uh, australianize it, a little, but how fun would that be? Here's a pretty fine version:

or stay closer to home, looks like these dudes having some kind of fun:

wow, that's was some pretty, uh, lack of rhythm dancing, but I still love the song.
    let's erase that with this:

    too old?

grandma cried when I pierced my nose, with a banjo. Anything can happen. Might just have to let it.

the other day I had a dream about a monster ,well a demon that was invisible, think exorcist or the fallen, it liked to terrorize folks before it would strike someone down, it liked it's job the way a african rock python does when it's time for supper. Moving through the community killing while folks looked on in terror watching some thing they couldn't see striking down their their loved ones, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, the demon wasn't consuming the victims, the demon feeds on the fear and horror of the passive observers his supper is the ones left alive .
Well, when I woke up , I had a high fever and felt like I'd taken a ride in a cement mixer half full of quarter pound forged steel iron balls.
The dream meant something it was a reflect of something that I realized the other day, but I can't say it's name or what it is. That the trouble with fever dreams, sometimes they are revealing something that is lurking just out of sight in the fog of everyday
I took a shower and tried to eat.

As an authentic existentialist, I have no ennui, but I do have weltschmerz.
