I can't believe there isn't one of these yet. This is a great guitar IMO. Now if I could only play like Eddie. Seriously though good for all styles. You should hear it through a VOX amp.

I have this sterling ax3 which is similar to the Wolfgang.

I also cannot play like Eddie so I can't justify the real deal. I have seen some new studios for cheap on eBay though.

I like the ax3. Has the asymmetrical neck and a cool funky fivevway switch.

Since no one's responding, I bought a Chibson several years ago and had Tim at Buddah pickups make a set of EVH-like pickups for it. Looks and plays great. Hate the Floyd, and it's a good thing because it's crap.

I know what you mean about the Floyd it's either love or hate. They seem to impart their own sound to guitars. I was thinking of getting a titanium or brass block for mine I heard it really improves the sound. Have you ever tried it.

No, I'm not a tremolo person. And the one I got is a crap knockoff that only works pushing down. I removed the tremolo bar and play around the Floyd. I asked my luthier about removing it but since they did extra routing to install it, it would cost as much as I payed for the guitar. Otherwise, it's a great playing guitar. Also, I asked for a blank head and they said no problem. Well...that didn't work out.

The Wolfgang Floyd only goes down. So if you break a string it stays in tune. Plus mine has a D tuna to drop the E to a D this would not work right with a floating tremolo.

Cool looking axe really dig the tigerburst top and the color.

Thanks. Sadly it's just a photo veneer but it doesn't look too bad depending on who You ask or talk to.

I wished I had the ax4 or ax40 with the FR, or a real deal Wolfe, but I actually dig this trem with the little paddle on it.

Still not a Wolfgang though. I'm really liking these others you all post.

I'm in. 2004 USA Peavy Custom Shop build. Custom Special Deluxe I think they call it. High flame Maple body and Rosewood fretboard.

Quite a guitar. Very well built. Well thought out. Plays easy. Rock solid, stays in tune. I just brought it home yesterday. In original Peavey factory hard shell case. I paid $880 USD from the original owner. Local sale. No freight. No taxes. He custom ordered it direct from the Peavy Custom shop in 2004. Good deal? I think so. Very clean. Unplayed for the past 9 years.

Just purchased a EVH Wolfgang signature. Overall I really like the guitar. I don't care for the D-tuna. Can the D-tuna be removed/replaced with a standard Floyd Rose String Lock Screw.(removing the the D-tuna all together).

Hey. I'm a new EVH owner...2019 Wolfgang Standard Quilted Maple.
Love the guitar but am having one major issue. Have owned many guitars over the years but never one with an R2 Floyd nut. I can't believe how narrow the neck is. I actually have the little e string slip off the edge when playing open chords pretty easily unless I'm really careful. I don't have this problem with any of my other guitars.

Is this a common problem for others? I measure 1.65" width at the 1st fret. All my other guitars are no less than 1.70" at the first fret. My Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas is 1.77" LOL but I really prefer the EVH shape/profile. I kinda like 'em wide but I'm not a thin/flat (Ibanez style) neck fan. Any advice?

I'm gonna go now and check my old 80's R2 Kramer and compare. Just remembered I have this. Dang. I'm old.

Also, please move post if in the wrong sub-forum.

Ed must love narrow necks. And so do I. I have a MM Axis SS which has a narrow neck but apparently is slightly wider than what Ed had when he left MM to go to Peavy. When I first got it, my high E would slip off sometimes but I've learned to alter my playing so it rarely happens anymore.

Of the 3 main EVH guitars, I love the Music Man the most. In fact I think they are making the greatest electric guitars out there. Their 4 over 2 headstock is the best looking of the bunch for sure. I do like the Peavy EVH headstock with the scoop but don't prefer the WG headstock. It's obvious they got to grasping at straws and this was the best they could do. My main thing too was no Floyd Rose. I never use one and they just add unnecessary weight. I'd have preferred a hardtail but instead have a regular MM tremelo and just block it.

I just bought a EVH Wolfgang special.
I like an ease of press, I've heard it call "buttery", type feel. The EVH comes set up with EVH® brand strings gauged (high to low) .009, .011, .016, .026, .036 and .046.
Should I leave these as is? In my Fender Players HSH (MIM) I've tried many (ernie ball, the $37 a set optima gold) always go back to d'adderio XL-120. I have these others

What are some of you guy's experiences?

New to the party, although judging by the sparse offerings of posts in here, I didn't miss much lol. Hopefully we can beef this thread up a bit. I know it's increasingly difficult to get a hold of the Wolfgang's at the moment, but I just had my Limited Edition Sassafras delivered yesterday. A few thoughts as I had previously played the Ernie Ball EVH, and I owned a Peavey EVH Standard years ago, and I LOVED that guitar. Sad I sold it a few years ago.

Pros:
Overall playability. Out of the box the set up, intonation, and comfort are great.
Materials, fit and finish all seem pretty good. Floyd and D-tuna work great.
Pick-ups, very clean and clear with lots of bite. Does not have the same harmonic overtones or "warmer" midrange of the old Peavey pickups but still good. And I have been using EMG almost exclusively for almost 10 years now.

Cons:
NO hardshell case OR gig bag included for a retail price of $1,399. That's a big punch to the dick if I've ever seen one. Was lucky enough to come across a Music Man Axis case today though. That thing is a tank so I grabbed it.
Pick-up selector knob cap was broken upon receipt. Not a make or break, but again for the retail price these little things should not be an issue.

Joining the club in 2 weeks after police hold is lifted at Guitar Center. MIJ with a beautiful quilt veneer, SS frets, nice bird’s eye neck. Couldn’t resist at a very fair price with the original TSA case full of all the candy.
