    Well, this is sure comforting:

    South Carolina: Most violent crime

Of all 50 states, South Carolina has the highest rate of violent crime at 766 per 100,000 residents.

Arizona; Worst at going to the Dentist. Nearly 60% of people in Arizona say they don’t get regular dental exams.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled December 1980, and that was the last time I've ever been in a dentist office.

Highest in accidental death here... thinking about some people I know (and some things I did back in the day), I'm not surprised.

I was all set to hear something about cheese, but I got this instead:
Wisconsin: Highest incarceration rate of African Americans

A shocking 12.8% of African American men are incarcerated in Wisconsin, nearly double the national average of 6.7%, and 3 percentage points worse than the next-worst state, Oklahoma. An African American man has a higher chance of being sent to jail in Wisconsin than from the B&O railroad in Monopoly.

Hopefully I don't get this thread locked for politics or something...

Another tout for our drug use huh? I must have lived in the wrong places because I've seen a lot more crack, meth and oxy as the hard drugs of choice. Guess I need to consider a more upscale neighborhood next move.

At least it's not Bridgeport, Conn. They have the highest State and Local tax burden of any city in the US, with 22% of a household income going to just State & Local taxes.

I usually do not take much stock in these types of surveys but at least for Washington and Idaho (worst drivers) this one seems spot on.

I think the "education" in North Carolina being worst in education is grades K - 12. We have some really good universities. I would like to see the criteria for ranking us lowest - I'd have expected pretty low but not necessarily lowest.

What the hell? Do kids learn more in a school day over there or are there barriers to catching up or something?

Florida ranks as #1 for boating accidents eh? At least it wasn't for the other water related claim to fame. #1 for shark attacks world-wide

Yeah but with the Highest Murder Rate we here in Louisiana make our violence count for something.
