A day job makes you loose hair, just a fact of life. Rockers who never deal with stuff like that don't have anti-hair stress, they have more bowel related stress.
Ever seen a bald dropout or hobo? One the flipside, look at a chamber of commerce or law-firm.

Does that mean that their bottoms will fall out?

I would say that it's only a lucky few that manage to get older without the hair loss. The others either wear baseball caps or shave their head. None of them seem to be able to come to grips with the "bald guy" look (other than Phil Collins maybe). I've always thought the situation to be pretty comical; what aging musicians will do to avoid the Phil Collins look. Steve Cropper, Dick Dale, Mike Love, Joe Satriani, Roy Buchanan. The list goes on and on.

Paul Simon, Jimmy Page, Krist Novoselic to name a few. Stress is linked with hair loss, but I think if you're gonna go bald, you're gonna go bald. My Dad's bald, my 26 year old brother is thinning so it's only a matter of time before I go that way. It's not a big deal anyway.

Well if family history is any indication, I'll never lose my hair. But it doesn't really matter, because I was born with such a high hair line that people have been accusing me of losing it since I was about 4 years old.

It used to scare me, but it's never moved, so I think I'm alright.

I've heard that Slash's signature hairstyle is a wig.

And has been since the 80s.

Neil Pert anyone? Frampton? Frampton at least didn't lose his chops, he's still as good as he's ever been IMO.

I know Kirk Hammett of Metallica uses Rogaine. And I saw some footage of Twisted Sister getting ready to rock that included Jay Jay French putting on a wig.

What's the deal with Gene Simmons? That has to be a rug but, when I watch his reality show even when he's just out of surgery he has it on.

Just goes to show you, if there was anything that stopped hair loss or brought hair back, then surely James Taylor, Paul Simon, Peter Frampton, David Crosby and Pete Townsend surely would have nice thick hair. There are worse things that could happen to you. It just seems like the worst thing when it's you. And me.

People in show business tend to do things to not look like they're getting older. Actors certainly are much more prone to this than musicians even. What to you is vanity is to many of them simply job security, at least they see it that way I think.
