Yes. Luckily I had a window in the laundry that could be jimmied with a piece of plastic kept in the tool shed for just that reason.
My brother locked himself out once and had to break a window to get in. He kept a key under a rock in his backyard after that

Not in many, many years. Haven't done the car either.

I haven’t been locked out of the/a house since I was a kid and I’d get home before my parents

The other week I did lock the keys in the car though, thankfully it was in the driveway and I have a spare (although I had to dig for it)
I always click the unlock button before I close the car door so I don’t lock the keys in, wasn’t paying attention and clicked the lock side “oh crap!”

I’ll just take them out of the ignition next time

I have been locked out several times, I have a very large dog door for my Mastiff, that is quite easy to get through... If a stranger were to try the same thing, his face would be horribly disfigured before his shoulders were close. :p

I just put up a keypad for the garage door last week, my knee's aint getting any younger... The wife and kid have OCD with locking the door, I can be next door at the neighbors for 20 minutes, and find that they left, and locked the door.

When I was 22 I started my Pontiac T-1000 on a cold fall morning to let the engine run and defrost a bit while I scraped the back window. I ended up locking myself out of my running car and then had to go break into my locked apartment to get a spare set of keys to unlock my car.

Were the apartment keys on the ring with the car keys?

What a bummer

When you open our front door with a key, it doesn't unlock it, it just opens it, so... open door, set keys and first load of groceries down, close door while getting second load of groceries, locked out. I have two spares outside now. Because, yes, I have done that routine with spare #1 before...

When I was in the fourth grade, I lost my house key and I got home first after school, before my older sister, or my folks came home from work. I had to take a dump so bad, it wasn't going to wait. So I did it in the neighbors bushes, and never said a word.

Yes. I was arguing and I called myself a really horrible name that I cannot type here. I got so angry at me that I stormed out the door to cool off instead of punching myself. I tell you, I really know which buttons to push with me. Anyway, after I had a chance to think about things, I started to feel bad about what I had said to me and how I probably made myself feel so I decided to go back inside and tell myself that I was sorry. When I got to the door, however, I realized I had locked myself out of my own damn house! Gosh DAMN me! I am such a jerk and so self centered. All I ever think about is ME!

Ugh, anyway, I ended up talking to myself through the kitchen door. It took about thirty minutes before I convinced myself to let me back in. Big mistake for me... I started beating my own ass all over the house. I beat me from the kitchen to the garage and back. I was screaming for me to stop and all the while I was dragging myself across the floor, I was kicking and thrashing about until I finally broke my own grip. I was able to get up and get to my cell phone and dial 911. The operator was so kind. She was asking me if I was still in the house but I wasn't. I was backing the car out of the driveway! THAT'S MY CAR!!! I was so furious that I lost all my fear of me and I ran outside and jumped onto the hood of my car.

When I saw myself jump onto the hood of my car, I thought, I am one crazy SOB. It was then that I saw the Police pull up with lights flashing. They wanted me to tell them what happened but I knew if I told them that I would go to jail. You know, this is gonna sound terrible I know but even after all that happened I still love me. I don't think I'm a bad person, it's just that I say and do things that really get me mad. I lied to them. I admit it. But in the end, I just couldn't let myself go to jail.

I'm still with me. I go to counseling on a regular basis and I have never been happier with myself. Surprisingly, there have been no more incidents since that day. I respect me and I respect me. I talk to myself with dignity and respect and if I have a problem with myself, I go to different parts of the house to think about things before I discuss it with me. I do things with myself often and I spend a lot more time with me than I ever did before. I think I will be with me for the rest of my life.

So, yes, I DID lock myself out of the house once.

When my daughter was in grade school, we got out the door before we realized we had no car or house keys.
End of the day we're having family dinner and she tells mom about me re-entering the house for keys, via a second-story ladder-climb.
Busted!
Lesson learned - key stashed outside to prevent any more second-story action...
Peace - Deeve

Under a rock is such an obvious place. My wife and I have an undiscoverable hiding place for a spare house key. The cars are different. Neither of them can be locked if a fob is left inside. I find I have to look inside the car for the fob at least once a month when I can’t lock up from the outside.
