Even in central Canada... this is way too early.

Been hanging out on the Naramata bench wine tasting this week with a bunch of friends and it is hovering around 0°C every night. Vineyards are picking the white grapes and praying for some more warmer weather before picking the reds. Not a great season for them.

Great wine, fantastic food and super nice people all week long. Does Canada want to include a chunk of Montana?

Southern British Columbia? Isn't that known Canada's Banana Belt?

Yeah... you're only a few hours away from where I live. Like you, we didn't get it nearly as hard as the people just west of us. There seemed to be a divide along the red river (ND/MN Border)... & Winnipeg straddles the Red. Every mile to the west got hit harder and harder.

Yeah I was in Crookston MN yesterday afternoon. Snowed all the way there but it was melting as it hit. A few miles from Crookston the ground was white, roads still wet. Talking with the plow drivers coming in the guys with routes to the west were really busy. Compacted snow and ice like crazy. Other side of the Red River was a mess, I-29 from Grand Forks to Pemina was closed.
Seems early but last year we started spreading salt the last week of October here.

We had a bit of snow a week or so ago but it was gone by late afternoon. Another good day here. The weather doesn't matter to an almost 70 year old, retired guy. I spent most of my working life outside. This weather is great for farmers here. Today and yesterday have been great for combining.

I am listening to my Winnipeg friends’ tales of woe (downed trees, utility pole fires, power outages) and trying not to talk about the weather. It’s not exactly summer here, but I don’t think they want to hear about where I rode my motorcycle today.

    :D
