    1. Callaham Slot Head Stainless Steel Screw Kit $15
    2. Allparts Esquire Black Bakelite $35
    3. Cavalier @Rob DiStefano Nocaster Holy Grail Lions $60
    4. Hoagland Esquire "Mike Eldred" Mod Wiring Harness $55

    I cannot convey how amazing the Cavalier pickup sounds, the previous pickups (the body is a 2011 Baja) were lifeless in comparison (Broadcaster bridge pickup). Reminds me of Julian Lage.

    @jsalvaggio - That's a very clean look.
    Wondering if it's a sane approach to have an alternate loaded pick-guard & control plate (for my current 3 pup format) and another w/ a single esq pickup & esq-appropriate plate/pots/cap, etc.
    Peace - Deeve

    What is the generally accepted best pickup for an Esquire?

    Looks great. I bet it sounds great too. I got one of Rob's nocaster bridge pickups in my tele. Sounds exactly what I think of when I think of a telecaster bridge sound.

    Would you be pissed if Fender came out with Baja Esquire 50s line?

    Everyone has a pickup they like, but Universal Truth #17 is that there is no best pickup.

    Any of Robs pickups are great, I got approx 6 of them in various teles strats.
    One thing I’d suggest is to get a Tapped pickup. I have one that is 6k tap and 10k on full coil. very cool to go from twang to solo on a switch.

    Twice I've emailed Rob with what I've got, what I'm not happy with and what I'm going for, and twice he's made suggestions that deliver.

    What kind of tone are you wanting? What kind of music do you play?
