The ES-137 I ordered off Reverb arrived Monday and I've been rockin down the house ever since. First, a shout out and tip of the hat to the seller Rayburn and Williams from Fond Du Lag Wisconsin. Thanks R&B! The guitar is brand new. NOS ca 2005. The classic es-137 has 498T and 490 pups which can be eq'd for decent clean but roar well using overdrive distortion. The guitar is big! I like it! It feels perfect against my body. Larger than my CS-336 and larger than my les Paul but very close in size to my Martin OM except for depth. The big semi hollow body has a lush, rich, punchy and focused tone with epic sustain. She's a BEAST! I love her. I'm undecided on the pups and may swap out for 57 classics but may keep for diversity. I have 57s in the LP and 336 with burstbucker 1 and 3 in Flying V. The 498 has great bite, not my first guitar with this combo. We shall see if I get that itch to swap pups. She fits in well with the rest of the gang. Here's pics:

Congrats! Man that is a beast. I guess you needed one to guard the rest of your herd. :D Nice guitars.

I first saw that model at this festival back in 2009. Ash was playing his P90 equipped version, not sure if it was a 135 or a 137?

Then later that night Big Bad Voodoo Daddy played and the singer had one similar to yours. Very cool guitars.

    Nice!
    I’ve never played/owned a 137.
    I gotta try one!

Congratulations on the new guitar. I have had one of the earlier and a little plainer (dot inlays and unbound fretboard) ES135s since about 2003. I've been really pleased with it, until I got into Tele's it was my No1. I have not seen an ES137 over here in the UK, it looks nice.

Congrats on a great guitar...and quite a spread ya got there too, I'll add. That is a sweet looking Kirncaster, I know I love mine.

I've had an ES 137 for about a decade. I keep flatwounds on it and swapped the bridge for a Schaller rolling tunomatic replacement. The guy that owned the guitar before me tried to notch his saddles and screwed it up badly. Aside from that it has been great. Occasionally I've considered swapping pickups, but the stock humbuckers in mine ain't bad.

Nice!! I’ve always always wanted an ES135. A white one with black binding. Like Izzy Stradlin had on the Appetite tour. It’s one of my all time bucket list guitars. I just love everything about the 135/137 guitars. Perfect size, single cutaway, comfy depth, and they don’t sound like anything else. Congrats man!

A 135 with P-90s is on my very short list of stuff to get.

    Beautiful guitar!

I remember playing a similar 137 about 10 years ago. I liked it a lot but I found a nice LP Traditional that I (just) preferred. I’d still like an arch-top Gibson some day though.

    Congrats; that’s sweet!

Here’s mine; snagged it about a month ago. I’ve gigged it with my funk band, and it sounds amaze balls!

There was a nice ES-135 in a used section of a local shop last year and I was very tempted...
