This one is almost out.......Due 7/29/14

Really looking forward to this. A best of tribute to JJ Cale by Eric Clapton & Guests. I can't wait to hear Knopfler on this. The laid back vibe of JJ Cale fits him to a Tee. I'm surprised he didn't copy some of his music like Clapton did. Tom Petty , Don White, Derek Trucks, John Mayer , even Willie Nelson!

Don't see a CD version , I think this is Download only though.........Still it should be cool.

I don't know how long they will have it available, but at least today itunes is previewing the entire album. I just listened to it. I have been a Clapton fan pretty much forever and was looking forward to this. But I am also a long time JJ Cale fan. Maybe Clapton's tribute will expose JJ's music to a bunch of folks who are not that familiar with him - that's a good thing. I would recommend buying JJ's original version of every song on there.

I'm streaming it now and so far I like it, especially the Knopfler tune, I think its the 3rd song. I'll be picking this up.

ITunes is offering a free listen right now.

I like it, and will for sure be adding it to the collection.

Listened to the whole thing tonight. Great job covering some great songs! I was surprised at how tight they kept the arrangements and how much they imitated John's vocals. Willie did some nice work it was good to hear him.

That last Clapton album was so dismal, think I'll wait for the review on this one.

I don't think this one will disappoint anyone judging by what I've heard so far - unless someone is going to say that he should have done it differently - or any other reason they can find to criticise him for the hell of it.

I got a copy of the album yesterday and listened to it a couple of times so far and really enjoyed it. It really is a bug tribute to JJ Cale that they chose to keep to the original song structures and even the same keys that the songs are played in. Even down to the number of old photos of JJ in the insert card. It's got a very nice laid back feel to the whole album befitting JJ's material.

I'd rate it up there with the best of EC's albums in the last 40 years.
