I thought that was not really a Telecaster. Well it is but with a Strat head. But yes many pics on Google. They have even made a special edition of this ( Fender)

Tele's aren't the only guitar out there, but half of mine are Tele's. It's hard for me to imagine a guitar player not having or wanting one.

    Lots of great photos :).

Clapton sounds like Clapton whether he's playing a Fender or a Gibson ;).

It's interesting. Like many, I associated Clapton mostly with Strats and Les Pauls but him wielding a Tele doesn't look as unnatural as I was expecting when I clicked on this thread. I'm curious as to what he'd sound like with a Tele -- well, aside from the fact that he'd still sound like Eric Clapton.

I think Clapton gifted Keef one of his famous Tele's. Not sure if it was Micawber or another one of Keef's many Teles.

If I remember correctly from an interview with Jeff Beck, the Fiesta Red Tele that Clapton played with the Yardbirds belonged to their manager (whose name escapes me right now) and Beck inherited it when he replaced Clapton in the Yardbirds. Apparently, Beck didn't think it was a good instrument (Compared to what, though, Jeff? A modern Squier Bullet?! An '80s Gibson Corvus? Ok, internal monologue over.) and later had the Esquire and the blonde Tele that ended up being gifted to Jimmy Page.

I think Clapton also played a Jazzmaster with the Yardbirds but don't quote me on that. Somewhere in my collection, I have a Yardbirds recording with Sonny Boy Williamson II and Clapton's tone on at least one song sounds like the Fender-y neck+bridge tone a Jazzmaster could make but not a pre-'67-wired Telecaster (unless his Fiesta Red one was indeed rewired to the modern switch settings of neck/neck+bridge/bridge).
