I bumped my Casino today and chipped the Tone knob (ironically against my Tele, which didn’t even flinch!). The plastic knobs on the Casino are obviously not built strongly as it didn’t take much to damage it. Has anyone found any Epiphone/Gibson top hat knobs that are a bit sturdier? All I can find is plastic ones that look like they’ll suffer the same fate eventually. Thanks.

I've had my Elitist Casino for 14+ years, I never had a problem with knobs. Mine are the same Gibson/Epiphone reflector top knobs. I'd just replace them with the same ones - they are available everywhere.

Not sure if the Elitist has USA pots but I believe all the other modern Epiphones have metric splines even if the pots are full size like on my IBJL Revolution Casino. Personally I have never had a problem breaking Epiphone knobs but I have upgraded some to a more vintage style. The standard knobs don't have embossed numbers if that sort of thing makes a difference to you.

So just be aware Gibson knobs will most likely not fit. Philadelphia Luthiers and Stew-Mac have good knobs. Some of which can be got on eBay.

Mine on my ES 339 came with witch hat black knobs that looked warped and bent. I replaced them
with the black transparent top type that you can see inside numbers on the control. Very nice
and excellent looks.

Why do you HAVE to put the exact same style knobs back on? Customize, and make it your own! Visit Guitarfetish and look at all the options. Yes, they have the replacement you speak of, but lots of other options. I have put Tele knobs on lots of guitars since I like their rugged design and clean lines. They far outshine any plastic crap out there. I also replaced some knobs on a bass with black Las Vegas dice. Found them at Reverb.com. I also customized an Ibanez archtop with some chrome top hats that had an abalone inlay. Paired up nice with the inlays on the fretboard.

Several months ago, my son knocked my Tele over. Without even looking up, I told him to check the floor for damage. Then I made him tune the guitar.

Thanks for all the replies. Much appreciated. Should have stated that I’m in the UK, so I’ll have a look here for replacements. Also, I’m in a 60s covers band, so keeping the Casino looking as close to ones from that era is preferable. Cheers.
