End in sight? I doubt it.

Yesterday, the heat dome gave us 105°. Today it will be at or near 100°. However, this evening we are supposed to get a north Pacific cold front come through which is supposed to drop the temp into the 80s for a few days. Of course, as the front comes in it is bringing dry lightning storms and micro-burst winds. More fires to fight, I expect.

End of what?.....weather, and all its vagaries? I don't believe that will EVER end....until, well, the "end".
We, as humans, keep throwing up things to bring about that end, and Mother Nature keeps fighting back. My money's on Mother Nature. ;)

That news just sucks. I feel bad for all fighting fires no matter where they are. Protect yourself in case the power goes out, stock up everyone!

I feel for you. We’re in the same boat. 102* and no rain in sight.

No, the end of the heat dome we've been stuck under since late June.

That name rung a bell. I fished there once or twice with my Dad. We fished all around the Mother Lode country.

I predict we may never come out of our nightmare. Here is what we NEVER do, especially now>>>PULL TOGETHER AS A TEAM. We'd argue weather Martians are real as they casually lazered evryone to death. There is a problem with the whether. It is called, MAN.

I'm sorry for all the folks up where you live in having to deal with this unusual weather pattern. It's always hot here in the summer, but it's gone on for quite a long while without at least a temporary respite. We have had two days under a hundred since June 27th. Something is different, because we don't get any fog to speak of anymore, and we used to be famous for it. Also, we haven't really had a winter in several years. It used to drop down in the winter into the low 20s, sometimes even in high teens. Nothing like that for years now. Not a lot of that, but some. Also, back twenty years ago, the greens would be frozen in the morning at the golf courses, and they wouldn't let you out on them until they thawed, up around eight or nine am. I haven't seen the greens frozen, nor for that matter any frost on my own lawn for several years.

Oh no, I knew the Dixie fire crossed the fire line yesterday and actually made it to Lake Almanor, but I did not hear about Greenville.:( I too fished up there as a kid.

Hey, @Ironwolf, we are to experience about the same. We are down wind about 40 miles from a big fire, so very smoky here until probably first snow. They are building two fire lines way far out in front of it. August is typically our worst fire season, so this is not looking good.

I hope @24 track is doing okay.

best wishes to everyone during this fire season.

My family has property in Colfax, Ca., which was just evacuated for a fire. Apparently, it's almost out now and it doesn't look like we got hit.

I used to go to Lake Almanor when I was a kid.
