A really great show, and Jedd Hughes was tearing it up on the Telecaster....definitely check it out when it airs in your area or on PBS.org

Also had my mentor Steve Fishell on steel. Steve gave me my first dobro, way back when I was a kid playing in a band with his brother & sister.

I caught the last half.....great show. Nice steel playing, too. Emmy's still purty.

    Dang, I missed it.
ACL not near as good as it use to be and they changed the time it comes on.
I'm out of the habit of watching regularly.
    I'll look for a repeat.

yes I rarely watch ACL anymore, I'm just not into the type of bands they usually have on there. But I still check every week to see if there is someone interesting on

    Really great set.

Rodney Crowell playing cool/worthwhile guitar on a couple old L-sized Gibson flattops. Dude is so good at this stage of the game - really on it.

Yeah - Fishell and Hughes were both fantastic. A lot of sound w/ few players up there.

By the way, Steve Fishell has just produced the CD
The Big E: a Tribute to Buddy Emmons
That's just loaded with great songs, fantastic steel and guitar playing, and some good singers.
No affiliation except Steve is an old buddy.

Who was playing the red Tele?

He did a pretty good job on Luxury Liner.

I caught this Saturday night. What a great show and a great set. I especially enjoyed the two Gram Parsons songs. I have always enjoyed her covers of Wheels and Luxury Liner, but it was great to see them performed. And I agree, the gentleman playing the red b-bender tele was awesome, especially on luxury liner.

Saw that show. Those two are really great together. Emmylou has always been exceptional, but Rodney has gotten way better as a singer over the years. It's what I was thinking as I watched, and then he said that in the short interview at the end.

Always appreciate major talent, and they both have it (the rest of the band was great too).

Filmed it and just watched it along with my wife. Great show! After watching Jedd Hughes tear it up on Luxury Liner I feel like I should never pick up my tele again. I am not worthy.

Jedd Hughes covers Luxury Liner on his solo album. Another great player in a long line of Emmylou guitarists going back to James Burton forty years ago.

I have a couple of her early records: Luxury Liner and Elite Hotel. Both great records, but I bought them because Burton is the guitarist one one of them and Albert Lee is the guitars on the other.

Yes Jedd Hughes does a great job on Luxury Liner, Albert was brilliant on the song, and JB is a legend, but the best guitar solo ever on that song was when Frank Reckard was in the "Hot Band".

Frank Reckard....wow!! I think I like that as much as AL.

This Saturday I'm off to see Emmylou, Rodney and Richard Thompson in concert. A really nice small theatre type venue. Should be good!!
