I’ve been playing for 35+ years, but I only realized, maybe 20 years ago, that speakers make a HUGE difference. Since then I’ve been through a lot of speakers, especially Celestions, and good amount of Eminence, among others.

The Eminence GA-SC64 is pretty amazing y’all. There are a lot of glowing reviews online, so I won’t go into great detail, but here’s a brief review:

Simply put, the GA-SC64 is voiced almost perfectly for the electric guitar, to these ears. No single speaker is perfect for every application, but this one comes close. What’s most impressive to me is the high end response. There’s no fizz or harshness, yet it’s still clear, articulate, and sparkling on top. I’m setting the treble a touch higher than I typically would on all the amps I’ve tried it with, but it is by no means dark.

It is a bit mid-forward, which is only noticeable when playing by myself at home. With the band it sits beautifully in the mix. Clean, crunchy, and even high gain sounds are just perfect.

I’ve auditioned this speaker with a variety of amps; Princeton Reverb, Marshall JMP, AC-30, Quilter Mach 3, just to name a few. It’s stellar with all of them.

It’s very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a try if you’re interested in experimenting with speakers. I highly recommend it.

I’m agreeing and I’m one of the biggest proponent of the Alessandro GASC64’s. I’ve only used them in Fender amps but my experience has always been good.

I’ve had them in two vintage BF Deluxe Reverbs, in a SF Deluxe Reverb, in both a BF and SF Vibrolux Reverb, and in a ‘63 Vibroverb RI.

Both the 10” and 12” Alessandro’s are great but the best combination to my ears was the 12” in a Deluxe Reverb.

I’ll be adding at least one GASC64 in my ‘71 Pro Reverb soon.

The GA 12 in my 67 Princeton Reverb is amazing. Plenty loud for stage work with 4 piece band. Lots of clean headroom for loud country pickin' and solid detailed rhythm playing. Pedals sound great too, and with the amp's 12 watt output you can run the speaker hard for hours without fear. I am impressed and it's SO much MORE than a 10 inch speaker. Fender goodness!

I liked but ultimately didn't love the 10" version enough in my '75 Princeton to kick the very broken-in Weber 10F150T out, but I've been kind of intrigued by the idea of bolting the 12" version in. One thing I did like about the 10" which seems consistent with what I've heard about the 12" is that it actually had ample mids. Some of the other boutique Jensen-clone speakers folks seem to like are way more scooped than the original Jensens in my experience.
