I bought an EMG hookup wiring kit for EMG-t pickups. There is no capacitor in the kit. Wondering if it may be built in to the pots or not needed? The pots have quick connect circuits attached to their backs. The pickups sound good in my squire tele but when I roll off the tone knob the volume drops way down as well. Don't know if that result has anything to do with capacitors. I couldn't find any useful info about this on the EMG website FAQs. Anybody used a quick connect EMG rig in strat or tele? Older EMG rigs with soldered wires had a .1 uf cap.

There is an installation pdf with diagram at EMG which mentions a built in cap.

Those solderless kits are great. Just make sure you're following the directions to the letter, and trace your wires to double check. They're easy to put together, but it's easy to make a mistake too. That kit is relatively simple.
The first time I put one together, it was a dual humbucker kit with multiple switches and an add-on we were trying that required me to splice in some connections. That one was a bit challenging.
