adrian is a monster!
Fripp did ok too
"Babble, burble, banter, bicker bicker bicker Brouhaha, balderdash, ballyhoo It's only talk!"
Discipline is such a creative and diverse album. I would play this in the car with my 6 year old and he'd laugh his face off when the elephant appeared each time.
Fripp is a machine!
Amazing precision and time. Reminds me of John Lewis (of MJQ) in the jazz world.
Check this out:
I like 'em when they're too young to talk, but still learning to walk.
I saw him play with his band back in '83 at my college. It was right before _Twang Bar King_ came out. While he didn't play "Elephant Talk", he did play "Big Electric Cat".
Fun show. Fun player.
I hear "Baby Elephant Walk" in the back of my mind every time I get behind a gal who's thick in the beam.
sometimes I think that the Talking Heads were King Crimson for the masses.
Lately when I'm packing the daily shipping I'll play King Crimson, Nektar, old Genesis, ELP...funny how nobody comes in to bother me.
4 incredible & creative musicians at their best... that was my favorite lineup of King Crimson.
"Discipline", "Beat" and "Three of a Perfect Pair" are always in reach for a listen.
A couple of weeks ago
Also the reason Belew is no longer in Crimson.
I will never forgive him
Well... it is Fripps band...
They were already 7 albums deep before Belew joined them for the first time.
Get in line, Belew is just one of dozens of former Crimson members. They all knew what they were getting into when they went to work for Fripp.
I never saw Crimson.
I saw Bruford expecting Holdsworth but got John Clark instead.
That performance aired when I was 14, and was the reason I bought my first Strat (four years later, when I could afford it).
