I don't know if this is the correct subsection or even the right forum.

    Goals:

Build a power amp for an active bass without a preamp stage.

    Make it cheap.

    Really cheap.

    Chintze.

    600 watts into 2 ohms.

    $225 plus labor.

    Easy parts:

    Par Metal 12X12X3 chassis,
    Mean Well 48VDC@12.5A power supply,
Sure TAS5630 class D power amp,
    2-cliffs
    1-25K pot,
    1-knob,
    1-switch, power,
    1-fuseholder and fuse,
    cord, grommet, and indicator.

    Mmmmm, lets go!

9CAC20EA-3386-4DE1-BB2D-0F1AF8D83856.jpeg I should have ordered a bigger chassis, but it would have cost more.

This is ganna look crazy cool. I have a class d with a 6" woofer and 2x3" speakers for a keyboard/electric drum monitor. Build into 1/2 in mdf, to look like an old fender amp with tolex and all

Thanks for the kind comments, gents.

I’ve been slacking again, life in the way it seems.

    Updates tomorrow, hopefully!

I forgot to order an IEC, so cord until next time.

6 volt lamp didn't last long at 120 volts.

    LOL.
