    I’m sorry to hear this.
I’ll never forget the first time I heard him.
He was the last guitar revolutionary, IMO.
    I hope he pulls through.

Was very fortunate enough to talk to EVH during a piss-break, about his PAFs, when they were just a bar band at Eros and Bogart on 10th and E St in downtown San Bernardino (1976?). Every guitar player I knew flocked to the bar to get a listen to this amazing band. At that time, Van Halen had one original song (Runnin' with the Devil) ... and covered every song in their sets far better than the original (Last Child, Tush, etc) ... I was there listening every night for the two weeks(?) they gigged there. Very sad, indeed.

Doesn't sound good at all. I hope it's not true.

Damn. I hope he pulls thru. He deserves privacy at this time. I’m rootin’ for my first guitar hero who motivated me and helped lay a foundation for the rest of my guitar playing life.

There's a more recent image of Ed in public floating around the last couple days. I think he looks pretty good all things considered.

A.J. Benza is a bottom-feeding hack. I wouldn't trust him or his sources.

Geeze, that news article reads like your every day tabloid bit with it's elusive information from various "sources". I really despise that sort of reporting, I mean when it's out there, report it then. But I've never had any respect for media peeps who try to "break" a story. Whatever the case may be, I wish Eddie & his family well.

The TMZ article is ridiculous claiming throat cancer from holding a metal guitar pick in his mouth. Yeah, I'm sure that was it and not the literal decades of smoking and drinking constantly.

well, he was my first inspiration, I'll never forget how, amid all the plodding butchery, he parachuted in with that goofy Dutch grin and just sounded like joy unbridled
