Most know of Eddie Cochran as an early Rockabilly star. C'mon Everybody and Something Else were hits in his day. I enjoy the great rhythm playing here. His strumming is unique and influential. Eddie Cochran was only 21 years old when he died.

He was a huge early influence on British rockers George Harrison & Jimmy Page

My older sister had the single for Christmas. The B side was Cut across Shorty, a moving story of a cross country race.

Love this tune. I came to know about him via Townshend. Eddie was clearly a big influence on a lot of the guitarists coming up in that era.

Pete has covered this song live periodically...and though I haven’t found it the version I like most yet on YouTube, I guess I have it via bootlegged copy in mp3 form.

This universe scares me sometimes. I suddenly remembered this song last week, after years of having forgotten it, and sang and played it to my wife and daughter. The melody just popped in my head after I woke up and I couldn't remember where it was from, then I remembered it was Three Steps to Heaven. Now this thread.. Strange reality.

This is some great music. I never really listened to him before. So thank you. Your post inspired me to research him. You can tell he would have been one of the greats. He was doing some innovative stuff on that Gretsch. He was the whole package.

I always think it's crazy that he was so young when he died but already such an accomplished player, I can't even imagine how good he would have been if he had survived into his thirties.
