eBay prices -- what's going on?

    Free shipping means a slight increase in opening price. The shipping costs scare peeps off. If the price they see includes shipping, it’s like an incentive. I sold an original Parker Fly from 1996. Opening g bid 99 cents with free shipping. It sold ten days later for $1500. I paid $900 for it a few years earlier. Cheap stuff is a money loser on EBay. Higher ticket items fare better. It also helps to be brave.

    Also, dealers bid up a low priced item, hoping they’ll score it for a little less. They bring the price up and regular consumers join in. More bidders means a better auction.

    Correct. Lotta folk out there with money, but no patience for homework..
