Those extra frets would make it difficult to play.

But, this is when the choice of a maple, or rosewood fretboard really matters!

Grand solution to a need that did not exist. Just because something can be done, does not mean it should be done.

The guy's selling because after he made it, he couldn't figure out what to play with it.

So that makes jazz only half a fret away.

It's a one-off, and it worked so well that he's selling it.

Sort of like all those auctions for "this is the best guitar I've ever played," or the ridiculously belt-sanded 'relic' bodies you see on fleabay, usually described by the seller as, "I received this body in this condition and intended to refinish it..." because they're too embarrassed to admit they butchered the job.

I've seen microtonal guitars before , but the mistake made here is he did not account for the thickness (diameter) of the strings this would offset the strings and the ability to intonate, the frets need to be staggered according to guage , basically buy the guitar throw away the neck and get a new one!but at 200 quid ? not worth it

What's the point? It's a serious question, I don't see any advantage to this. Why do this?

Maybe you could carefully remove the surplus frets.

If that fails, set the guitar up for slide only.

"What do I do with all this extra fret wire?"

No bending required to hit those blues notes.

I can see some 10 year old prodigies kicking some serious butt with that guitar.
