It's on any instrument and if you travel out of country, or ship an instrument out of country, it must be accompanied with a Certificate of Proof that it's a pre-Convention specimens (June 11, 1992). You have to apply for the Certificate from Federal Fish & Wildlife Services.

You can request a "Passport" for instruments if your traveling across any international border.

I haven't met any swede with a name remotely similar to Pippi Långstrump either.

Pippa is a British name though?

    And Viking baby boomers ?

    The absolute worst.

They act like they're the only people out there exploring the world - and on the boat? Nothing but the Beatles...

    .

And I actually was only selling it in the US and he saw the ad on eBay and thought he'd get lucky. Thing is - that Guitar was made in Finland and there's got to be an ass load of them over there...

Can I travel into the US with my 1979 Fender F65 with the rosewood neck, back and sides? Are the workers at the border crossings really aware of this stuff?

Apparently, there are, but I was unaware of any travel restrictions. That's just dumb. Speaking of dumb, that's the exact way I'd act if questioned about it. Huh? Rosewood? I don't know, it's brown guitar wood I guess! How am I supposed to know? Wanna hear a song?

I would think, someone traveling with a single instrument wouldn't really have any problems.

It's a Government "Processing" Fee, I could tell you why and where it goes but then we would be violating the No Politics Rule.

As of January 2 2017 you would have to apply for a passport to carry that instrument across international borders. I think it's a $75 fee for the CITES Passport to carry a pre-ban instrument.
