just got a slightly used Eastman SB-59. gorgeous flamed top. Seymour Dunan p-ups. great tone pots. plays just like you expect this type of guitar to play, sounds mostly like you expect this type of guitar to sound. i got it for around 500 bucks less than a new one.
i've owned 2 Gibson LP standards and one custom, none of them were as pleasing to me as this one. on the Gibsons i've owned, i always hear a "rubber ball" quality to the notes when played clean (which is not a bad thing, just a distinction i almost always hear) . i do not hear that on this guitar.
i also have a SB-55 which i'm going to use as a dedicated slide guitar. it has slightly higher action and seems to be just right for that.
i don't what to say except i am a gear snob and these are great instruments.
