So I will explain, early this morning after coffee and bacon sandwich, I was lying there half awake sort of thing listening to the news, well obviously the mind drifted to guitars as it usually does with empty head space.

I say empty , I can be mid conversation with someone and drift off but any way s.

Probably due in part to the recent threads about signature models and perfect guitars etc which I've greatly enjoyed, I started planning a build based around a tele body with contours sort of strat/ Jeff Beck esquire/kotzen style. Finished in a light apple green nitro ,
Gold hard wear like the kotzen teles.
Not sure on pups but again like the set up on the kotzen but I had thought about a fralin in the neck and j b Seymour Duncan in the bridge ,but open to suggestions .

Now the neck I want to put a scalloped rose wood tele neck on it ….
Why because I think it would look and feel amazing plus I've never seen one on a tele before? I know some will be thinking why but does anyone know of where one can be sourced ? ; or will it be a do it my self job? ;done it before on a strat an whilst a lot of labour to do right , would keep me busy over the winter.

So I guess my question is have any of you done a scalloped tele neck or seen any ?
Plus would be interested to know what parts you would all use for this build and where to source things ,

So tele body contoured like a strat style,
I will paint but what best sealer and paint used rancher in past.
Gold hard ware preferably locking vintage style,
Pickups, want tele and strat ish tones said what I like above but ideas?.
Scalloped rosewood neck , pre cbs decal
Slanted neck heel on body as well btw.
What harness set up should I use or be looking out for .
Also what best aged white guards are available these days ?.

Dreams you see after coffee and bacon , joking aside its a build ive been thinking about for a while and it keeps coming to me in my quiet time lol.
All help and ideas appreciated and noted. :)

Maybe just a Malmsteen Strat neck with a rosewood board?

Will Warmoth make a scalloped tele neck? I know there are some well-known luthiers who will scallop any neck. I wouldn't do it myself unless you get to practice on something else first.

Warmoth will scallop a custom order neck. It adds $110 to the price.

    .

Build it like the Triple Teles, three singles, 5-way Strat switch, but put a push/pull tone pot to get a series humbucker tone out of it.

Look up the Robbie Robertson model too, and see how he moved the middle pickup close to the bridge pickup, plus I think the wiring diagram is already out there for it where he used push/pull for series humbucker combo with the middle and bridge pickups.

Recently played a kotzen tele up at the local music store, and it was hard to walk away from it. The gold hardware and the cream binding and pickguard are a verry good combo.

I did a tele body a few years back with strat routing, arm cut,and gut cut.

A scalloped fretboard........on a tele no less............That bacon must have had hi grade Afghanistan hash in it.Don't know why I didn't think of it back in the day but key sara.My point as Spock so eloquently put it once, sometimes having is not as pleasant as wanting, not logical but nevertheless true.......

Yesss grab a neck and start scooping some meat out with a Dremel and sanding drums. This sounds like a fast build, I diggg it.

There is an old Andertons video on Youtube where Rob Chapman gets an LTD "T-type" (includes belly carve, but no armrest) scalloped.

(link to the point in the video when the modding is done and you get to see it:

There is no gold hardware or green finish, but Kotzen is mentioned at one point.
