maybe Sport Bronco would be a better name ?
I'm all for E cars, but I couldn't believe they used the Mustang name and how effing ugly it is. Why Mustang? Jaysus....
They won't sell any in Texas.
The old man smell in here is STRONG!
Kinda miss my ol' G-Mustang...
maybe not, but there will be texans renting them in Cancun when they are on vacation.
Sprouted mung beans?
Name's already taken - they're rolling out a new version of the Bronco, too.
I see what you did there.
I don't know. Maybe. I do not love the design. But it's a smart move for Ford to get into that game. Maybe give it a makeover. No reason it couldn't look like a Mustang, right?
But E cars are becoming really common in Texas. Tesla will be building their ugly Tonka truck here.
I may be dumb but I'm not stoopit. I think companies believe they have to make electric vehicles look different. That is a mistake in my opinion. Make them look good and people will buy them just like people buy Model S Teslas.
I'm looking forward to electric conversion kits for existing fossil fueled cars. In the meantime, I'm waiting a few more years to buy and electric car. I'm waiting to see who's gonna come up with something special from which I can't walk away. Until then, I'll drive my Flex until the wheels fall off.
Might cost more to recharge it than to buy it. Texas has been getting hammered.
The missing piece is that the car companies WANT to go electric. They see the value and benefit.
We will too. We'll have gas stations for a long time... but, gas isn't tube amps.
Well, just my 2 cents, I think Ford will sell an effin' pant-load of them just like the Taurus, Escape, F150, etc. Marketing has a way of brain washing the population now a days.
We all know Ford is trying to move with the future...
but did they need to name an SUV "Mustang"?
What’s the bet how long before somebody LS swaps one? Lol
Post of the day.
For the rest, it's not all bad news. I noticed how much less a Model Y is than when I was car shopping last summer and GM just announced what the current Bolt should be. It will be an exciting summer for E-Mustang haters and lovers.
You could run a pretty powerful sound system with just a fraction of the battery power in these cars, could even run tubes. Electric motor in each drive wheel just like mine haulers (Diesel Electric Generators, like locomotives) would be great all-wheel drive, right? Dial in which wheel gets overdrive, and carry on. Electric vehicles can be pretty quiet, so sound system would help. Or do these cars come with sound effects? Modeling cars? Make it sound like a Harley or Flathead Ford or Twin Turbos, how bout the Jetson's Mobile? OK if they're running valve amplifiers?
I've been thinking sort of the opposite that with several new BEVs here and here soon, the re-power as electric will be taking off. New tools and skills for LS swaps - the new car platforms have a lot of AL in the construction and flor pans or platforms never designed for anything but battery in center with motors at ends or edges.
Closer to topic, I have to side with those pointing out they don't look too much different than a lot of the competition. Better in some cases and with instruments in front of you.
Good luck Ford!
