House around the corner just sold. Noticed a dumpster out front in the driveway and decided to look.
Scored a pair of Vandersteen 2Ce model speakers. Along with the Kimberkable speaker cables set up for bi-amping. Just tossed in the dumpster. They were a little dirty and banged up a bit, but they work. I don't have room in my house for these. i have a pair of Model 1's in the original boxes in the basement. I don't really have a stereo set up dedicated to listening to music anymore. Maybe craigslist?

Congratulations on a good score! I found a pre Rola Celestion greenback with a ripped cone in a dumpster. I glued it and used it for years. It sounded amazing.

The latest version of These speakers new cost $2700 today. The speaker cable is probably $250 new. By far the best free thing I’ve ever scored.

Who in the world would throw those out?! You’d think at the very least they’d give them to a friend or the Salvation Army or something. Fantastic speakers.

I think they were left behind by the previous occpants of the house. I’m guessing it was a case of just get rid of everything and clean the house out. I also got a Carver integrated amp, but It doesnt work. I guess tossing it into a dumpster didnt help it any.

I've got a pair of those.

They do not open up with less than ~100w channel. I have bi-amped them with 225w on each woofer, and 100w on each tweeter. They get really crisp sounding at that point. Still prefer my Heresys though.

But great score! At the very least you can refin the wooden caps, get new socks for them and flip them for some dough.

I got a pair of Yamaha NS 1000M speakers that were on their way to the dumpster. Sold them a few days later and bought a Telecaster.
