Photos of this guy's "work" before he tried to take it back can be seen here:
    https://www.yelp.com/biz/dream-home-remodels-of-colorado-colorado-springs-2

Seems like if the customer wasn't unsure about the actual plumbing working, she might have got stuck paying for a substandard tile job to say the least.

The very first tile job that I ever did was miles ahead of this.

He's going to have a hard time claiming "repossession" when using a sledgehammer.
That guy would be leaving my house in a casket.

After seeing the photos of the work done prior to repossession (on the Yelp page), I'd say he did them a favor by getting started on the demo. There's no way I'd pay for that either. Chipped tiles, misaligned edges, sunken corners, incompletely cleaned grout - it's like Baby's First Tile job. I've never installed tile and I'm confident I could do at least as good a job as that.

If you refuse to see, much less own up to, your mistakes... well. Should be an interesting life for ya.

Remodeling would be a great business if it weren't for the customers!

There's a lot that we're not seeing here. Not enough to make a judgement call either way on this one.

When the house next door was being built the owner stiffed the electrician. Said electrician came back and cut and ripped out all the wiring he and his workers had done. I don’t got to show you no stinking mechanics lien.

Why'd she let him in in the first place?

    Esp with a sledgehammer.

Those photos! I have no experience doing tile and my one job turned out better than that. Wow.

Right on, me and my fathers company has been ripped off multiple times by disgruntled customers that just didn’t want to pay for perfectly good work

It’s usually the people that have excess money that try to screw you while the people that have to scrape it together and save actually pay...go figure

    Yep!

I quit doing it after HO's BS! A buddy of mine got nailed by a "pro"! She'd be the sweetest you could imagine and we'd get the job rolling but once a phase completed she'd throw up road blocks. We had to quit the job as she made it physically impossible to finish. She sued my buddy , the contractor, and won! He had to refund every cent AND leave the materials which were ~$10,000 if I recall.... Tools would be missing every morning! We think it was her mother who was this crazy old lady that looked like Ed Wynn and watched WW2 documentaries all day on tv...her only redeeming quality. The dumbest things would be gone like a battery charger but all the batteries still there! Geez! Francine!!! Never forget that one!

I did searches after I found out how it went down and she'd had several lawsuits against contractors!

He didn't put any aluminum corners in... That reveal had to get hidden. Guess he could glue PVC trim on it... Yow. I'm no tile pro either but darn that's rough work...

Before anyone defends the guy make sure you look at his work on the yelp link. I wouldn't want to pay full price even if the plumbing "worked".

I have been in construction my whole life, I have never seen a tile job quite like this before. If the homeowner had any idea what she was looking at, she would have thrown him off the job on day one. I can almost guarantee that the shower was not watertight and would eventually leak and lead to mold and structural problems in a pretty short period of time.

I was just saying in general, yes it’s bad work but I’m sure they probably paid next to nothing then wondered what went wrong ( this is speculation also)

This is what my competition is made up of, you get what you pay for most of the time

Like today while building a deck for a customer a neighbor came over and asked us if we could build a deck a little bigger than the one we were building, he says he wants to spend 5000 dollars, my father goes “woe! Do you see that small pile of lumber and decking over there(pointing to the job site)that alone is 8000”

So I’m sure the neighbor will find someone to do it for 5 and it’s going to be a sub par job

I understand there’s lots of shoddy people out there but there’s also a lot of nightmare customers

I’m not defending the dude I’m just thinking they got what they paid for

What a childish display by the company/representative. Was there a man there with that lady? Dude needs his card pulled if so.

Also... ~$8k to remodel a bathroom that size?

$7,500.00 was the quote for the job. She paid for all the materials upfront.
