I always will.
49 years. Just think of all the music he could have made
Always in our hearts
They are almost all gone now. My favorite band ever. Music just flowed out Duane like a fountain.
Eat a peach, moutian jam!
I love this pic with Wilson Pickett
I saw the Allman Joys at Grant Park and was blown away. I’ve been a fan of ABB and have seen every version of the band but Duane was always the benchmark for me. When I heard of Duane’s death I was devastated and felt a huge void in my life.
It’s mind blowing to think of WHAT could have been had he lived. But we’ll never know so I enjoy the recordings that we have
One of a kind.
For me - the best that ever played.
Yes, very well said. “Flow” really describes their music doesn’t it?
You know the Muddy Waters tune :
"The Blues had a baby, and they named it Rock and Roll" right?
My ( twisted variation ( no disrespect intended) is
" B.B.King and John Coltrane had a baby, and they named him Duane Allman "
I saw the Allman Brothers Band at a show at a roller rink in Cocoa Beach before their first album was released.
They opened for Pacific Gas and Electric. They played the first album in irder. Everyone was stunned by what they heard.
Birth of a genre
Saw them 5 times 2sumners later as they toured florida up an down the coast.
Great times, great band.
First heard him on the live Statesboro Blues and wow! Just blew me away. Got to see them around ‘72 but sadly he was gone.
