I will guess (further) that if doing that, one can't do the "parallel grid stoppers halving the grid-stop resistance" that's employed on multiple Fender inputs -- the grid stop resistance is always what one chooses to hang off the grid, singly for each input path -- and that's why you compromised with 47k stoppers.
