Drunk guitar buying? No. Drunk guitar playing? Occasionally.
Several MF "Stupid Deal of the Day" purchases have happened when I've had bouts of insomnia. I've bought a couple guitars at 3 AM after being awake for 2 hours. I'm a horrible sleeper. If I had half of a brain I wouldn't keep my iPad on my nightstand.
Delirious……"Yah this is a good idea!"
the voice in my head says, I'm not as think as you drunk I am...nope, I'm not the buying type.
Hard enough to peel my fingers off a nickel. That's why it's taken me so long (+50 years) to have more than a dozen guitars, plus a banjo, mandola, bass, etc. It don't come easy and it dang sure don't come drunk.
Does getting slapped by my wife count? If not, then maybe I’ve never been drunk.
Or that you need to find out of the 7 kids you didn't know you fathered.
I've bought several things like that. Never really regretted it, or was able to return it if the gear didn't suit me.
Is everyone going to pretend the didn’t see this? WTF is this thing???

If we ignore it, then it never happened. Right?
don't really drink..its my sober buying that scares me
Drunk buying guitars is nothing, now making irreversible “repairs” on an instrument while drinking is where it’s at
I once needed to shave down the heel of a neck because it was too thick for a body I had (or so my mind thought) so I tried to cut it with a chop saw and ended up cutting down half the length of the neck , not one of my brightest moments
Don’t want to steal your thread just the first place my mind went
I was all set to brow beat the OP for the premise of buying a guitar when you are drunk. But now that I think about it, I think I did finally push the button on a pedal that I'd been looking at for weeks, a pedal I liked but but didn't really need.
I had had a few beers. They didn't affect me, but my index finger is a lightweight.
I had a shot of whiskey just before purchasing the most expensive guitar that I have ever owned. Does that count?
I didn't see anything, so I think @JuneauMike has it right.
No, unless you were on the fence and the drink was the tipping point for your decision. Also, if you were sober but regret the decision, then I think it's legit to blame the booze.
Was Shirazzed to the max one night. Saw a Tokai Flying V on ebay. Put in a ridiculous offer, it got accepted immediately! Another guitar arriving at my house might have serious consequences for my marriage so I explained my drunken state and how much I want to stay married. He wasn't happy but he cancelled the auction for me..
Not sure I even want a Flying V!
I don't drink, but I have other vices..
I'm CK and I'm a thrift store junky..
I tend to buy any guitar/amp I see in a thrift store, I have had a few cool finds but most of them are budget things, that after I set up and re string I'm lucky to make 5-10 dollars on at a swap or on CL. Still a man's gotta' stay warm..er needs a hobby! I bought two yesterday, a '70's plywood LP , and a Squier dred, If I'm lucky I might make $25 on the pair.. after I fit the LP w/ that knock off Bigsby, I have in my junk box.
Well, you don't see one of those every day.
Unless you've had too much to drink... In which case you may see three - at once! I'll take the one in the middle...
Something in your subconscious, an experience like a concert, or an episode of Don Kirschner’s Rock Concert was stimulated to compel you bid on a Flying V. Oh -KAY!
